The Acid Reaver is a great unit killer who is meant to get in the fray, he should fight to the death with his powerful close ranged spells. I mostly get Caustic Breath and Acid Sheath because they allow for his survival. At level 15 he is great for sieging bases, it also reduces the armor of enemies in the area and buildings so building will die faster. If you want this hero to survive longer when sieging bases you should get knights armor and orb of Life, you then can get Rings of Might.
He is a good combo with the Scarab when they are sieging bases with both there ultimates. They both will be able to destroy bases if they have a big enough army with them.
