So I'm currently looking for a job and having a damn-hard time finding one (that I could enjoy). Was wondering if you guys had any helpful advise or tricks, this is sorta my first "real" job, with the interviews and paychecks in everything. Any tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
Some places I've applied:
Costco
Hastings
Buckle
Events Center

Statistics say that the majority of people over 25(or thirty, forget) enjoy there jobs...Also, it's hard to pin down a strategy for a stranger, especially when I can't even see them to make blind inferences based on walk, speech, build, and clothing...
One thing I do advise: Wear a decent fitted suite to the interviews, and send a thank you letter afterwards. The thank you letter is part of interview etiquette, and last I heard, some places didn't hire without it...not many.

Ugly people are usually not taken for job interviews unless they have credentials.
Get credentials.

Have a high GPA, it will help you during interviews because they will think that you are smart and will pay attention, and it will allow you to land internships which will pay for your college and allow you to get a quick track to a great career later in your life.

fitted suite
Haha, fitted suite...
I didn't have to interview for my job. The guy talked to my instructor and then called me and asked if I wanted to code for him for 15/hr.
My suggestion is to get a job that pays well, gives you discounts on shit you actually want, or is piss-easy. If you get at least one out of three, you'll be happy. Excepting that, just freeload.

Google it...
there's plenty of this information available online.
My recommendation? Find a job where you can interact with customers, work on your sales techniques, or learn about the basic operations of a company. Being in finance, I see the people who have a combination of operations understanding or sales understanding coupled with any other type of business acumen are often quite successful.

I would be surprised if the network was worried about and old wooden ship.
