Eve of the Apocalypse: Twilight

Guinsoo(who modified Eul's DotA and made Allstars), is making a retail version of the AoS genre.

Guinsoo updated DotA allstars all the way to version DotA 6.01 before giving it to Icefrog(who updates it now).

Game is called League of Legends.

Here's Guinsoo post on the DotA forums. (Reason why he only has 3 posts and no admin is because when he left DotA just after the website moved to a new forum).

That's the real Guinsoo(despite his 3 posts).
Pendragon(one of the admins on the site), posted about it and said he was the real Guinsoo.

Here's a trailer, it doesn't show any gameplay footage, just introduces a few characters.

If they are able to make a recipe system that doesnt completly suck, heroes that are equally useful for the whole game, dont overpunish you for deaths at the same time as the enemy is rewarded and make it balanced, I guess I will try it then.

Demigod also saves levels, turning into less of an AoS and more of just an RPG with AoS elements. Both games will probably flawed to no end as well as have idiotic features. Since they'll be the first retails of the genre, people will more than cling to that shit as a "classic" and expect every other AoS to be like them.

It is nice to see this style of game being introduced into mainstream in my opinion. It will be nice to see how it works out through this smaller scale of gamers, and if it gets enough backing to see some of the big dogs jump in to make better games like it.

If EA makes an AoS I will shoot jamn in the foot.

I should be able to arrange that...a homemade railgun would be easier to get, don't think they made those illegal for civilians yet...Yay magnet powered weapons.

I also don't really trust GPG and Chris Taylor anymore.

I loved TA back in the day, but Dungeon Siege was lacking, and Space Siege was a completely forgettable game. Here's to hoping Demigod is better...

I thought this was done almost a decade ago with the whole dynasty warriors concept. Sure, there are item recipes, but beyond that I don't see a whole lot of difference.
