Poll is self-explanestory

Comon Bear, this isn't any way to fight your battles, nor is flaming, I know. But enough is enough man. Not telling you what to do, and you can either delete the poll or keep it, its your poll and your choice, but this isn't nessesary. I sure we can all find a way around this pointless flaming and come out unscathed.

I do realize I did flame you, I might have had a good reason, but its a flame nonetheless. So here it goes,

I'm sorry.

Just thought I'd let you know in case I do get banned. If it comes to that, the apology still holds, seriously. Not expecting you to do the same, I'm just tired of all the flames, from me and everyone. Hope I didn't sound too idiotic.

Personally I'm willing to accept it if you actually change your ways this time.

I'm willing, not sure if Bear is willing to forget about it though.

Hope so.

I ask you to please proofread and check your spelling before you post. Correct punctuation is nice too. :D

AngryBearThing, seriously. The Mods will deal with him if they want to. Even if this goes through, the mods won't, or at least, shouldn't, ban him. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, however flawed they may seem to you. A troll is only as powerful as the person who keeps feeding him. You're just as bad as he is if he's a troll, which I doubt, and if he's not, then just leave it. This isn't your place to control as you see fit. This is worse than anything he's done.

Maybe follow a rule on many forums that says, "Wanna get banned? Feed the trolls." I normally see the feeders banned since trolls normally can be ignored and will eventually quit trolling or move on. Feeders get warned once then banned. So, here's an excellent question, do these forums have an ignore feature your ignoring?

Hmm, Bear you there man?

Hope this poll isn't timed.

I know the mods won't do anything, I used to be one of them. If I'd do anything that would change the forum emu would instantly undo whatever I did, most of the things he undid were for better, but some I still believe would've made this place better (Only place to go is up). Last time Disco made a poll to ban Demongod86 the thread was closed and deleted. I really just wanted to see where everyone stood on this issue.

Hmm, so can I consider myself still a member of the eota clan? if so, thanks for willing to forgive and forget.

P.S. Hope we can get along better in the future.

Nah, I guess what I mean't was a member, I sometimes refer to the overall members as a "clan".

We sorta are you know. Hope to be a clan member soon though.

You only have to get through the questions of the hardest recruiter to date...

Me.

The moderators manage threads and maintain structure within forums; it's up to the administrators to organize the forums at the macro scale.
AnAngryBearDoctor wrote:Last time Disco made a poll to ban Demongod86 the thread was closed and deleted. I really just wanted to see where everyone stood on this issue.
Public polls are troublesome for dealing with management issues. If a poll comes out in favor of "yea" and I implement "nay," then it appears that I have no respect for the community (which is sometimes necessary for management); if the poll comes out in favor of "yea" and I implement "yea", then it appears that my decision was influenced by the poll (which is fine for matters of taste, but not for matters of fairness).

In an ideal situation, I can figure out how people feel on an issue without a poll (by reading their posts and talking to them in private); if that isn't enough, then a poll is fine, but only if I have an interest in the matter at hand (interest here in the sense of having ties to—and some sense of ownership over—the matter). I wouldn't create a poll asking which aspect of the map people would most like to see improved, because while I might be curious about that, it's only of interest to the person deciding which areas of the map to improve (i.e., Yak). Idle curiosity isn't enough of a reason to make a poll unless the matter is trivial. ("What is your favorite hero?" would be a reasonable poll for me to make, because it doesn't suggest an accompanying action.)

So, to summarize, polls can be appropriate for decisionmaking as long as it's the decisionmaker making the poll.

Well tox there is a difference in recruiting people, and not recruiting anyone at all, you are barely any type of recruiter.

Hmmm....maybe they just needed a firm hand to guide and more practice?

"All were once ignorant of what they are experts in now..."

Ya, very good one for many people, let them know that no one was born with their expertise.

but your flaw is you equate it to expertise... what if it isnt.

No one is ever truly the top expert, for there is always more to learn....It just means that even the skilled couldn't play at some point in time, in this case....None were born knowing what they consciously know now....Breathing was lucky experimentation and you can't control digestion at birth.
