You are not anonymous: You are pseudonymous. Everybody here has a name. It's not your real name, but it is a persistent identity.

This is not a free-for-all message board. It is a forum with specific purposes: To facilitate discussion of EotA and to act as a meeting ground for members of Clan EotA. Suggestion and feedback forums are for discussion about ideas and developments, not about other users. Within the clan sections, you are free to bash each other, but the areas about the game itself should remain focused and on-topic.

If you don't like particular elements of the forum guidelines, you may make suggestions for changes. However, some things are not going to change, like the sections on treating others decently, and airing disagreements with administration privately, not in public. I cannot compromise on those points for a forum open to outsiders. If you feel they must be changed, take it up with Yak.

In the meantime, if you will not obey the basic tenets of the guidelines, then I will not allow you to post here. Fairness demands as much.

If you have a problem with the site, site administration, or another member, you should privately discuss it with them one on one and act as a mature adult about it. Discussing it in public isn't the way to deal with situation like this.

Warnings aren't intended to be fun. They're intended to be an alternative to using bans as anything but a last resort. Many other people have received warnings: Storamin received one in the same thread you did. If I created a public wall of shameful behavior, then maybe you wouldn't feel singled out, but that's not the way I'm going to do things.

The private warning --> public warning --> ban hierarchy works very well.

Your opinions are noted, but that's not how it's going to work. It's not my job to make people look like asses (it's up to people to do that to themselves). I try to operate with the lightest touch possible: If I see a fight brewing, I pull the participants away from each other, rather than tearing off my shirt and leaping into the fray to attack one, the other, or both. This keeps the administrative workings of the board from interfering with discussions as much as possible.

Negativity isn't exactly conducive to creativity. If you don't like someone's idea, don't post about it. At the least, you should leave it open for other people to add to and maybe turn it into an idea you do like. Being negative doesn't accomplish anything except halt discussion and make you look like a jackass. Of course, judging from your posts in this thread, perhaps that is your goal?
