Bioshock: The Thread

Discuss.

I just took down my second Big Daddy. It's funny: the entire time in between Big Daddies, my health packs and money go up and up and up until I can afford to buy out every ammo vendor. Then I hit a big daddy and use up all my health packs and end up dying anyways, then I have to restock on all my ammo which uses up the rest of my dough.

I know "you can set traps", etc etc... but you can't -- not this early in the game. I only have two slots for plasmids, and four different kinds anyways. I can either stun him for ten frames with bolt, or get riddled full of holes while I wait for him to throw a grenade so I can catch it and throw it at him with telekinesis.

So, pretty much all I can do besides go in guns-blazing is set up security, but he takes those out so quickly it's not even worth the time spent to set it up!

They're supposed to be hard, but this is kinda exhausting. Will probably get better when I have more options on how to take them down, though.

Btw, /harvesting the little sisters (don't judge me)

Common fucking sense, if your pc is as good as or better than the 360 engine, then its way better. Its that way for just about every first person shooter game.

I think what he was getting at was if there was any extra stuff for the PC or 360 version.

It's not "common fucking sense"

many times the ported version of the game will run much slower. ever play spiderman game that came out a year or so ago? the pc game was a totally DIFFERENT game... different plot and all

differences in controls. some FPS are horrid to play on computer and vice versa. ever play halo PC? yah, it sucks.

Does it overheat as much?

I hear the PC version is heavily SecuROM rootkit'd, even the Steam version. The demo plays the same on my PC and 360, but I don't have a DX10 card; maybe they put in some extra mapping for the models for DX10. I got it for the 360 because I like the controls better -- some FPSes I like better on PC, some console. Plus not having to worry about patching, drivers, errors, etc. etc... worth the 10 bucks.

I'd say go for the 360 version unless you don't have an HD TV but have a good PC and don't mind 2K doing outright illegal stuff to your computer.

Also,

It's the same engine (UE3) and the same content. Only difference is whether your PC can render all the content. (barring whether they threw in extra maps for DX10 that the 360)

By the way, the water and fire is waaay impressive. Looks a lot like what Flowline has been doing.

Haw, saw this on Digg, regarding the rootkit BS.
Is man not entitled to the game he buys?

NO, says the man at Securom. It belongs to 2K.
NO, says the man at 2K. It belongs to us.
NO, says the man at Microsoft. It belongs to our license purchasers.

I rejected those answers.

Instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose...piracy! Where the gamer would not be censored, where the PC owner would not be bound by petty encryption, where the buyer would not be constrained by corporate greed. And with the downloading of your torrents, piracy could become your salvation

Also, 2k has said they won't keep up all this validation bs for long, only until the game isn't 'hot' anymore, and people stop trying to pirate it.

But pissing off your purchasers when the game is hot is stupid.

Well, I don't see where anything can't be easily fixed by an easy patch, which is exactly what they said.

And of course...

Controls on the PC are arguably superior to the Xbox 360 version, not only for mouse and keyboard support, but also having additional hotkeys which allow you to access weapons and plasmids with a single keystroke.

The main reason why PC FPS games are far superior to consoles.^^^^

I like console FPS's because I'm much more used to a controller than a mouse and keyboard. Not to mention the fact that all the computers I've ever had sucked.

Hah, two people did... My guess is they just want to disagree for the sake of disagreeing, or they probably would've posted something...

I've been to several other sites and nobody mentions a working crack, and there's nothing on gamecopyworld.

I was going to suggest demonoid, but seeing as how you've already tried it I don't know what else would work.
