So yeah, capture mode?
Even though I appear to be the only one who preferred it to standard mode, I'm asking for it to be fixed/improved/advertised etc. There was a thread on one of the past forums about what could be done to improve it, and there were some very good suggestions.
While I could write a 2-page post about what needs to be done with capture mode and how to do it, I don't want to do it without knowing there is at least some interest in implementing changes.
So yeah, anyone else who wants to see capture fixed?

Some suggestions/things previously brought up: Towers auto-built with the base.
I know EXP gain is significantly higher (or... I think it is). I think it needed to be scaled lower in the games that I played of it.
Another important thing, at least in my opinion, is that one needs to be able to choose which lanes the spawns go to first, rather than the spawns only going to the normal 3 lanes. Whether this is just implemented in free command towers, or with the ability to chose the lane on the base, this would make it a much more strategical mode in terms of macromanagement.

Hide Terrain at advanced options before hosting I think.

Capture mode is curently chosen by choosing "Hide Terrain" in Advanced Options before creating a game. That should be changed to typing -capture in the hero picking period and displaying the voting dialog.
Another thing is being able to direct where an outpost sends troops directly, best by giving outposts some command tower functionality. As lanes and outposts are usually set up far differently in capture then in standard games, the default spawn paths are often very bad on both maps where capture is meaningful (gloomreap and stormwail).
Yak mentioned giving experience to everyone around when a neutral creep is killed, which would allow heroes like the infiltrator and the harpy to harass enemies and deter their progress against the creeps in the early phase of the game, when there is not much else for them to do.
As for bases building towers automatically, that could work, but I'd prefer if tiny guard towers and tiny cannon towers were slowly produced depending on the number of outposts you have, up to a number equivalent to that of the beginning of a standard game. Like tower cores on Stormwail, but with a limit. Those tiny towers would have to be placed in the tower radius around towers. That would solve the phenomena which I'm sure everyone who's ever played capture knows: there never are any towers.

To some degree, Mercs should be for free (at least at the beginning in the main), because without them, it takes ages to conquer lanes... and the bridge entries to the main bases (Storm) should be protected more easily... the spawnies from that base just run to Rock/Inn lane, and attackers own the base... Command towers dudnt help due to no gold (all wasted on Mercs and no mines), and they are killed too easily. Maybe pathing should be changed so air units also go over the bridges (or has that happened already?)...
