Just a reminder that Reek still can cause a lot of lag with Miasma.

AI stuff:
  • AI heroes don't follow VF font battles' special rules for revival. They were able to revive while the battle was going on.
  • AI heroes should actively search for enemies within the font fight area. I was able to regenerate health and mana with a Healing Salve and Clarity potion because the AI didn't target me.
  • Could you have some kind of "unstalk me" command so that the AI stalker heroes won't follow you?

Just curious, do you know if they entered into the battlefield first? If you never step foot inside then revives are handled like normal.

Do you mean you were out of range or out of sight?

They entered the battle, died, and then revived to fight again.

Out of sight as I was hiding behind the Font.

If the AI hasn't changed drastically over the past year or so I would say that it isn't a bad thing that the AI revives during something which they shouldn't due to how bad they are.

The AI was remade more or less from scratch about 6 months ago, and they're currently getting more revision to try and improve them further. It can also cause problems of neverending font battles if heroes can just die and run back in a short time later.

BTW, when you say stalker hero, do you mean the support heroes? Cause Inf technically has a stalker ai ;P

Yeah I meant the support heroes. Inf at least doesn't rush through enemy bases stalking my hero and getting herself killed.

You obviously haven't tested the newer AI....

*Cough....Because they are far more capable than they were, say, six months previous ;P

Do you really need to quote Yak and state the same thing that he said just to try and make yourself seem smarter?

I would hope that after a big rework they would be a little better, I mean they used to be so bad that even you would beat a team of them by yourself, and judging by your skill level, that means they were pretty fucking horrible.

I am not going to flood this topic with another debate that you are going to lose, but if you want to lose another one, make a new topic somewhere.

To be fair, he could be mocking me and claiming they still suck. That's how I read it anyway.

All I was saying is that you made a dipshit statement without actually verifying it. All you had to do was play a single for ten minutes and recognize the AI are alot smarter (use spells, engage in battles etc) than in previous versions...pretty simple stuff, really.

I've played literally like three games with you, all of them with horrid lag, so you honestly have no idea what my skill is. That being said, I should have EotA up and running on my comp before this weekend, which means I'll gladly play some games against you. If, by some miracle, the singular neuron endings you call a brain are able to comprehend this, I do hope you'll get your dick out of a dog's ass long enough to take me up on the challenge. If not, you're more than welcome to continue masturbating to porn videos featuring cartoon renditions of a transgender Miley Cyrus fucking baboons...or whatever you do on the weekends.

I probably have a temporary ban coming....In any event, see you this weekend Jamn...?

Why would anyone ban you? Your baseless insults mean nothing to me.

I am sure that the AI is "better" than it used to be, but that still is nowhere near what a normal human player is able to accomplish thus any person should be able to beat a team of them.

I say you suck at a game, and you go all apeshit crazy, sounds like someone feels guilty about something. The last time I played I made a team of five human players lose in like 5 minutes, and made you rage because I killed you as a level 1 Blackguard when you were level 11 in another game. I have nothing to prove to you, and would rather this game just die for better projects to be made.

Don't worry, I enjoy this good ol' DarkNemesis that throws out the stupidest insults I've ever seen, so I won't ban you. Why don't you go make some new hero suggestions so we all have something to laugh at.

Come now, let's not be coy. You and Ion used to love banning me (that's not a taunt btw, just a statement of fact)....

I think "most stupid" would have been a better word choice, especially when you're insulting the intelligence of someone else... :(

I've made enough ridiculous hero suggestions. The forums really don't need anymore clutter.

I have never banned you once on any of your like four accounts. The only things I have banned on the forums are spam bots.

AI heroes with a full inventory will still try to get the moontear even though they can't carry it.

I just played a test-game with the old AI and I can definitely see the improvement with the new AI.
The new AI now ends up filling their inventory with annoying items like Glacial Wall and Mindgem and abuse the regeneration of Angelstone. They also revive much slower than before which reduces how much they can feed you.

I hope you don't mean the items are the only improvement ;P Especialy since while I updated the shopping lists, I didnt add anything special for using the items. I should actualy check how effective they use the Angelstone on that note since I could see the built in ui possibly using it mid battle.

I think the reviving is still bugged for some reason.

Was finally able to get the damn version to work and did a few singles. I noticed that the AI don't seem to upgrade the items. Instead, as watermelon pointed out, they just stack their inventories full of them...just a minor complaint, haven't played enough to comment further.

Not sure whether this is a Bug/type or not but the title listing for High Oracle's talents lists "Ki Strike" twice, although they are separate talents.

No, they do upgrade items, they just prioritize buying level 1 stuff over upgrading, since upgrading is technically less cost efficient. That said, I'm changing this behavior for the next iteration of the AI.

Inf's AI should be updated with the new one since she doesn't participate in any events.
I don't think the AI should prioritize the events over defending their base like how the AI prioritizes sieging over going to the event.

I was semi-joking about items improving the AI, but it does make them harder to take down. They can be stupid in using non-combat heals like Angelstone directly in battle, but I wouldn't worry too much about it since they sometimes use it well.
The new AI is mostly better at taking advantage of teleports than the old AI is.
It's also mostly good that the ranged hero AI lost their old wimpy behavior when an enemy unit was too close to it, but you may want to have something like that for them in the Font battles.

One of the complaints I have about the new AI is that they're not really as aggressive as the old AI used to be. I guess that comes with not making the AI as suicidal as before, but I've seen my AI ally focus on attacking an enemy hero that had more life than another hero that was pretty close by. A similar problem exists when they siege towers since they don't always target the lowest-life tower unless it sustains more damage.

That's partly because I never got around to writing the more aggressive part of the AI (the generic AI was based off Fork's AI and TC isn't really a hero that should be aggressive). But guess what I was testing yesterday!

I dont know when i'll get around to redoing Inf's AI (since its fairly unique), but as a bonus I figured out why her mine use was pretty inconsistent. The AI tries not to blow up large amounts of allied unts, but it turns out it was counting the mines themselves as allies to protect, so when she made a giant clump of them she would never detonate them - but singles she would use pretty effectively.
