Kedge Changes Feedback

#1 Post by Kalrithus »

The change to moontears I'm feeling mixed about. It definitely encourages team play and for the carrier to play smart in accumulating experience, but I find it easy to abuse the mechanic or ignore it all together. For example, a person could buy a storage plane and have it grab the tear, then hide it in a corner of the map where no one could find/get to it resulting in the mechanic being totally ignored for the duration of the map.

I disagree, I don't think any player would try that, and if they do, I think it wouldn't work.

Actually it does work because I did it, and while its nice to hope for the best its an undeniable fact that there are people out there that derive pleasure from griefing and ruining the fun of others.

If that's a problem I could always add a mechanic to force non heroes to drop it.

I also should ask, do people feel this at all fixes the disparity in lane importance? My feeling is sure yous till have go too the beach lane once every few minutes, but after the pickup there's no need to stay there. And since it's hero controled, you don't even need to drop all towers there to ensure you hold the middle point, becuase heroes can just run in and grab it.

It does fix that in that it seems the left lane is a better lane for xp (perceived might not be the case) so once you grab the tear you might as well hop in that lane if you want to try and cap it quickly.

Exp should be identical (note: I need to double chekc that kedge towers don't cause an exp penalty), it's just more likely that people are all piling in the right lane and thus more heroes is splitting exp more.

what's the shared exp cutoff radius? Are you using default wc3 engine for that?
