You should allow battle cruisers to pick up units, but have it setup like the medivac picking up a thor.

I created unguided missiles which will either hit stationary targets and explode, or explode a set time after they came close to enemy unit.
The key to creating this behaviour was the changelings disguise skill that applys a buff to itself after finding an enemy. The buff itself controls who it is applied to at the Data - Unit field.
