I think its bullcrap. I mean come on, this generation knows crap about Marvel, all they know is the crappy games and crappy movies. And since the movies and games were bad i can't imagine how crappy the new Marvel is going to be, specially if they make new shows. Not to mention how horrible Disney is.

I'm seriously not expecting a Disney VS Marvel game.

I'm really really not expecting Marvel characters in Kingdom Hearts.

Oh my, a crossover game between Disney and Marvel, now that would be... kind of creepy.
You're of the opinion that all Marvel movies are shitty? I don't agree.
As for what Disney will do with Marvel, I imagine they'll retain it as it's own entity; because, seriously, you cannot mix Marvel and Disney.

One movie stands out, in that I can clearly remember most of it, and found it to be quite good. That's X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Other movies that I think I enjoyed at the time, but can't really remember well enough to judge now:
The three Spidermans, especially the first one
The Incredible Hulk (that's the second Hulk movie.)
Iron Man (maybe...)
Elektra (I think)
Daredevil
The Punisher
The three Blade movies, specifically the third one.
Ghost Rider
Possibly the first X-Men

Ghost Rider is the worst fucking movie on this earth. Holy fucking shit.

Electra is a close second. Daredevil comes in third.

X3 was crap, Spiderman 3 was crap.

The first two spidermans were ok.

Haven't seen any others but I've heard Iron Man is pwn and the 2nd Hulk is ok.

IMDB seems to agree with your assessment. That is, excluding your gross exaggeration, of course. As for me, all I have for most of those movies is a vague impression that I did not go away from them feeling let down.

Is this even on-topic?

Edited because I had "of course" right next to "of course." :(

What the hell are you guys talking about, Spider Man was horrible.

Doesn't anyone notice how they screwed up our childhood comics/shows. Now they have feelings and cry and wish they didn't had those powers.

Pretty much the only Marvel movies that were close to being good were Iron Man and Blade.

i loved iron man, granted i'm biased because stark industries logo is a rip-off of the logo of the company i work for. I really liked the first two spidermans, the first two x-mens were pretty good, and most of the rest of them are entertaining. ghost rider is complete total crap though. but yeah i even enjoyed the fantastic four movies, granted I've seen tv shows that were better, and i wouldn't recommend buying them, but they were entertaining.

marvel tends to make entertaining movies, and while they don't have anything that i would say beats the two newest batmans, those are the only good DC movies i can think of since the two micheal keeton batmans. in short, marvel makes a higher quantity of comic book movies then anyone else, and they tend to be decent, with equal chances of being crap or excellent. good purchase by disney, if for no other reason than marvel should make the purchase amount in about a year or two of standard operations.

The newer Batman films are truly brilliant works imo.

Not sure if they are owned by Disney or Marvel? I know the Spiderman films are, also great entertainment. The new Hulk movie I enjoyed as well. And of course the Pirates movies, thoroughly well done.

Not much to say imo, I know the Spiderman series needs to wind down, I really don't want to see that many more. Batman could easily make 1-2 more and still go strong. Iron man was wonderful, the second one is suppose to come out next summer iirc.

And on a side note, Transformers was a total joke. I haven't and refuse to see the second one. Horrid. Megan Fox may be the only reason you would watch that movie, and why not just skip to those parts?! :D

I wouldn't say the transaction is a bad one, both film companies have produced quality entertainment, we'll have to wait and see what they make I guess. So long as Peter Jackson is still making The Hobbit I will be happy and couldn't really care too much, that should be one hell of a film. Can't wait...

Fail?

I didn't claim they were made by Disney or Marvel, I merely asked if (knowing the potential for error) they were or were not, one of the two. So technically, I didn't fail at anything. :|

Fair enough.
Film
Marvel's current distribution deal with Paramount (Viacom-owned) covers the next five Marvel pictures including Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011), Captain America (2011), The Avengers (2012) and Iron Man 3 (2012/2013). Paramount confirmed the films to be produced under their Marvel agreement. These films would all flow thru to Paramount's new pay TV network EPIX, however, all new properties beyond these would likely flow through Disney's output partner (currently Starz).

X-Men property has been licensed to 20th Century Fox (News Corp. owned) while Spider-Man has been licensed to Sony, which seems to have plans for the next three installments.

Theme Parks
It appears that Universal Studios maintains geographical rights to Marvel IP for as long as they have Marvel-related rides/attractions at the park (unclear if this also includes merchandise that exists within its parks today). In other words, Walt Disney World in Orlando is unlikely to see a Spiderman/Hulk themed attraction for the foreseeable future. The following excerpt comes from Universal City Development Partners' (owner of Universal Studios Orlando) 10-K: "We have geographical exclusivity east of the Mississippi River with regard to the specific Marvel characters we utilize. The license for the Marvel properties does not prohibit its assignment and is for the duration of our use of attractions themed around Marvel characters."

Video Games
THQ: Multi-year deal signed in May 2008 for Marvel Super Hero Squad.
Activision: Deal signed Nov 2005 and goes through 2017 for Spider Man and X-Men
Sega: Multi-year deal signed in April 2007 for Captain America, Hulk, Thor and Iron Man

Toys
Hasbro 10K: "Subsequent to December 28, 2008, the Company entered into an agreement with Marvel that resulted in the extension of the current agreement from the end of 2011 through the end of 2017."
That is what Disney gets.

I know, right? If you make the hero more interesting, less two-dimensional, give him/her some character; well, that's just wrong. Imagine if you were to acknowledge that stories that work in one medium (comics) didn't work without alteration in another medium (movies). Blasphemy. Obviously, the quality of each and every movie you see is based on how well they copied the exact character from the comics. Thus, any movie lacking a comic book character is automatically complete crap. I see the light now, thank you.

Exactly.

I liked how Spider Man was soooooooooooo interesting. Wouldn't you agree?, I mean what's better than a manly Peter Parker? an Emo Peter Parker with feelings of course!. Oh yes,the recent Spider Man is much interesting, watching a Spider Man movie is like listening to an emo kid talk about his problems.

Let's make every super hero movie have emo feelings so that they will have some character, like Super Man... oh wait.
