A question of ettiquette
A question of ettiquette
in bot pub games, should you hold back if you know not doing so would cause the other team to leave in about 5 minutes? i'm talking about noticing that you managed to get 5 obelisks, seem to be holding them, and the other side hasn't built one, should you build spawn towers and wipe them out? or would that be 'bad manners' to frighten pubs out of the game?
Re: A question of ettiquette
I never build towers unless we seem to be playing a competent team. Of course, i also let people survive instead of chasing them down if they obviously have no idea what they're doing before level 10ish.

Don't listen to Yak, he's full of bollocks!. I've seen him repeatedly hunt poor, hapless (?) noobs and slaughter them mercilessly.i also let people survive instead of chasing them down if they obviously have no idea what they're doing before level 10ish.
Still...I can't say as I disagree with that. It is so much fun!

I'll hold back and even give 'em a hint or two. "Hey, man, better check out that scroll in your inventory!" or "Grab a Dust of Appearance, you'll see that assassin coming a mile away when you use it."
95% of that is replied to with a variation of "fuck off!" or "dont tell me how 2 play". But hey, when I dominate 'em and they leave, I can't say that I didn't try.

"L4D2 promises to set a new benchmark for co-op games. . ." Like L4D promised to hand us new maps, survivors, and zombies? We've seen how that works.

I try to kill as many low level noobs as possible in order to get a better code at the end, and also to make the game quicker.

They (newbies) aren't going to learn by getting beaten at the map. I prefer a quick beatdown, snagging the artifact and having the game remake with balanced teams to a protracted newbhunt.

Oh yeah, I hate pub stomping too. That's why I do it quickly, so we can play another game as soon as possible.CursedNobleman wrote:They (newbies) aren't going to learn by getting beaten at the map. The pubs are boring enough without obliterating them.

I pick less offensive heroes, or heroes I'm not experienced with and try to learn the dynamics of their skills. Basically I use noob pub games as practice. I don't hold back, but I don't withhold advice if they ask.

God I hate pub teams. Especially with people who think they're god's gift to EotA but can't push a lane, kill a single hero or defend a single base.
