I would unban them, but I cannot see who is banned on the bot.

Re: EotA-HB Poor Sport Banning
#1, nobody should ever be banned from the hb bot unless they've done something very major
#2, anyone who creates a game has the power to ban (or maybe just kick?) people in that game
#3, we're working on something to restrict people from making games who have been abusing it
#4, we can't see the bot's goddamn ban list

Re: EotA-HB Poor Sport Banning
Ok, after getting access to the ban list, this isn't acceptable.
gimmethegepgun banned: lazerlazer and lordsuzaku
terraa banned musashi and zombie_chicken
puka banned kirbkillz
nwa banned cyberguru
All have been unbanned, and we're in the process of making the bot harder to use. We may end up restricting game making to clannies only, which isn't what i'd like.

Just do that and have it autohost for those who are non-clannies, at least if it's being abused.

For the record, I was banned for blinking during ravenous dive to place people on spots you can't run from. He got pissed needless to say.

Limiting access sucks, however the current situation sucks more.
Rather than just "clannies" how about a kind of application system for getting access to be able to host?
The application would have:
Tedious process, but probably the best method that doesn't completely limit who can do it, while policing it in a way that doesn't having to deal with every "just any random come along" that abuses the ban. Feel free to suggest additional requirements to the application (I won't say take out, because I think all are necessary) or things to make the process better.
Also, I remember seeing terraa before. In a game I hosted, the person called me a "hacker" without stating what kind of "hacking" is being done when asked, then stated he/she is adding me to their banlist.

The application would have:
- [#IF]Application Representative.
- Person's account(s) and of course which realm it/they belong to.
- Person(s) of referral, (requires confirmation of referral for validity).
- A short summary displaying their knowledge of how and how not to use EotA-HB.

Well, clan access can be granted ot those outside the clan, so that's basically already the current situation, without an official process.Limiting access sucks, however the current situation sucks more.

Ideally we'd have a modiifed version of the bot that has less retarded permissions. However, i don't have time to do it myself.

Re: EotA-HB Poor Sport Banning
I think it's general knowledge to everyone that it'd be best if GH++ had better access support, but sadly it isn't. I think the application and probation system would be the best until then, which could allow someone as pretty much a complete stranger but has potential to bring something to the table, with the risk of the person referring said person it's not completely likely the person wouldn't have been referred unless at least somewhat trustworthy. And if some abuse manages to fall through those cracks just take actions, it'd still be a lot less moderation required than relying on banning every user who abuses the bot.

To be honest, that does sound quite annoying.
And ban worthy.

So if he nets me and uses that combo it's my fault for not being net immune?

If you're going to bring items into it, you pretty much are net immune if you use Wands of Negation.

Those work too, and not to mention just keep out of range from being dragged to them, Blink doesn't have unlimited range, and there's only a few spots that it'll work at.

My only response to this is "Are you retarded, or was your head run over by a steam roller?" I don't know anyone who would have the time for this let alone want to track all of it.Perhaps wrote:Limiting access sucks, however the current situation sucks more.

The application would have:Also, there will be a probation period, if the applicant breaks any of the terms/rules of using the bot, needless to say the person will lose their access, but also the person of referral can lose access as well. There also could be some representatives that would be "clannies" that could run this process through in the channel, then post it on the forums for record (that wouldn't be held accountable like referrals are.)

Simple fix, people abuse it, we take it away. Fucktards ruin the fun for everyone, that's why you strap them down to the bed with towels and beat them stupid with a bar of soap in a sock.
It's not rape if you yell surprise!

If only there was an internet equivalent, many problems would be solved.Simple fix, people abuse it, we take it away. Fucktards ruin the fun for everyone, that's why you strap them down to the bed with towels and beat them stupid with a bar of soap in a sock.
Sucks that people are abusing the bot, I sure hope they don't fuck it up for everyone, the constant flow of Eota games is just too great.
