I dunno if this is gonna work, I'm getting an error whenever I try to get into Bnet. It does a instal updates thing, then gives me shit.

This is what it says:

Blizzard BNUpdate v2.133 compiled on Aug 14 2008

This patch upgrades Warcraft III The Frozen Throne from the previous version.

That happens when you didn't actually install wc3 on that computer and instead copy'd the files to your local drive.

There is an easy fix, but you'll need to provide the directory to where wc3 is.

No as in the directory wc3 is at. Usualy its c:\program files\warcraft iii

although I average I probably play 5 times the games in a year
I want this to make sense but grammar just won't let it happen.

On another note, I will be there, on time and ready to play/watch. I am definitely looking forward to it and if I can't partake in the challenge sidelines are just as good. I say if his internet works we play 3-4 and round it out so we're not just judging it all on one game but, we'll see how it goes and how much time it takes/we have/are willing to invest...

Lets try this instead then. Find the icon you use to start wc3. Right click it, select properties. Under the shortcut tab, there should be a box labeled Target:. Copy what's in that to here.

Uh, I lost you. I don't remember DarnYak saying anything about that. Also, I followed Yaks instructions, sort of, and I wasn't confused, the program just wouldn't let me copy/past whatever. Grayed out.

It shouldn't be greyed out, you're doing something wrong. Follow what Ragnarokz posted. Folder is the same thing as directory.
Like I said, I don't do this terribly often. Mind telling me what the hell I do? Copy and paste to another file? What?
Run the file in the zip. Double click it. If it doesn't run from within winzip, extract it THEN double click the extracted file. If it asks you if you want to run it, hit yes or ok.

once you have saved the file, right click it and hit 'rename'

delete the .txt off the end of the name so it only has warcraft3.reg

then double click it
