For items, it would be either new artifacts, or items that fit a niche that isn't filled now (and just because there isn't, say, a mana regen armor, doesn't mean that niche isn't filled by other slots). A possible niche, for example, would be spawn support items (aka auras, or maybe some activated ones). There's also a few stats that could probably fit in becuase they didn't exist when this batch of items were made, ie Increase healing received by x%, or increases (life/duration) of summons by x%.
