Ok, the reason for this post is several different ones.

1) I want to know power generation methods besides wind that don't use water to generate(Feel free to disprove others who you know are wrong)

2) To learn more about the workings of power generation(In other words, explanations of how they generate power, input of fuel, way power gets put in, controls to prevent bad things such as wasting fuel or explosions, etc.)

3) To do what I do and seek more knowledge in all things, and maybe help others learn new things on the way.

Do you mean use water at all? Because most forms of power generation involve heating water and turning a turbine with the steam. Solar is the only exception(except for wind) I can think of off the top of my head.

Chernobyl is mostly an example of how safe nuclear power ultimately is: Even in Soviet Russia (where car drives YOU!!), the worst nuclear disaster in history (far worse than anything that's likely ever to happen in the future) killed only a few people. I'd sure as hell rather live next to a nuclear plant than a plant burning fossil fuels, particularly in the US.

nuclear power plants burn uranium fuel to create power and this power is transferred from the reactor cores to the the water (transforming it to steam) and the steam is moved out of the reactor core. the whole reactor core is surrounded with water.
