Hi there....where is everyone?
Hi.
Yep, this is another "forum newbie" here. I'm YurdleTheTurtle on B.net. I host EotA often but obviously, I suffer from the problem of the insanely low popularity (argh...) that EotA has. It was suggested I check out Clan EotA's channel, but unfortunately every visit I had there ended up with no one there, besides two bots.
Strangely enough, I had managed to get fullhouses using the words "Eve of the Apocalypse: Twilight", and many times I had trouble getting players when I just used something like "EotA v11.1e". I don't mind introducing new people to the game, but it does get a tad bit annoying when there is a lack of veteran players.
So where exactly is everyone? How can I get a few regular EotA players? As of now, I really don't know what to do, so I just keep hosting with the full map name and new people join in, wondering what of kind of map this is. Maybe it's good because the name is good? I'm guessing that's their mentality, but in any case, it gets 'em to join and play. Must raise low popularity higher!

Our biggest server is East...
since 1.11 came out, the clan has been extremely active, you must just not be in at the right time.

Eh, I never liked the true spelling of Yertle the Turtle. Dr.Seuss is great though.

Extremely active = 1-4 guys in the channel?

If you have to be in at just the right time, that doesn't sound "extremely" active, that sounds like inactive, with short bursts of mild activity.

Re: Hi there....where is everyone?
I've been visiting Clan EotA channels every once in a while, and I still see no one.
To be honest, I believe it's kind of impossible to get veteran players. Ah well, I guess I can have fun telling people "Hey (player colour), you can turn that scroll into something useful, HINT HINT!", then watch in vain as 20+ minutes later the "noob" messages flashes over at least 4 heroes.

If you want to see the good players, you need to come to europe, wait some days and hope to get in an inhouse.

How can things be inactive, if there is activity?

If you've tried west, most likely nobody was there.
It is a lot more active on weekends though, we had a fully inhouse game just last Saturday.

To expand on Dekar's suggestion, get everyone's xfire and people from Europe will sometimes call you for an inhouse.

On Northrend, the average skill level of "veterans" is... high... we just lack the numbers...

No one actually lives in Europe silly .Hammel wrote:On Northrend, the average skill level of "veterans" is... high... we just lack the numbers...
Seriously though, some of us live on the West Coast of the USA, so connecting to Europe is a recipe for disaster.

Re: Hi there....where is everyone?
East is 6 hours from here... no problems for me playing there... no desaster at all... and I doubt another 3 will make so much of a problem (unless the host sucks)...
And people DO live here... although I wish some didnt (seriously). Actually I wish quite a lot didnt...

Re: Hi there....where is everyone?
I'm not that desperate, so I won't be downloading programs and trying to add the everyone who posts here. I just need a couple of regular Azeroth players.
I just want to know if anyone actually plays it, otherwise, I've already gotten used to having new people play my games. Can't really get angry at people anymore, no matter how ridiculous the situation gets.
