Banning players who PREVENT games
Just today, at about 10:26 eastern time, on US East, I ran into a problem for the first time:
A pair of people who were joining the game, then waiting til the countdown, and leaving at 5.
Panda[Earth] and Panda[Divine] were their names. One would join as soon as the other left, and so on back and forth.
Can we get these 2 banned, or something? They're holding up games unless they can play together...not fair to the rest of us who are patiently waiting for games to fill up.

Agreed. I was a part of this game and it was very annoying. They were told nicely at first to wait until the next game, but ignored our comments. This went on for way too long.

The honest mistake was thinking you'd get away with it with no one noticing.
Don't act like a jerk in the future, please. Intentionally wasting people's time doesn't promote community spirit.

Honest mistake repeated 50 times is no longer an honest mistake.

Dishonest mistake?
Re: Banning players who PREVENT games
Ok, so I did talk to the pandas a lil more in a later game and they did seem sorry and apologetic. I'm gonna still pretend to be mad and stubborn, but I think they know better to do it again.

Ban them from the bots, an example needs to be made.
Letting them play after all they've done would make us look weak.

As long as I don't see it repeated again, I'll be happy. : )

Re: Banning players who PREVENT games
Unless perhaps this is intended to get them banned from the channel as well... This belongs to the bots forum. In fact there's a thread specifically for that.
HostEm: Admin List, Admin/Bot Rules & Abuse Report
This lists the rules of the bot, rules for the admins, and lists all the admins. The thread is also where you posts abuse from users and/or admins.
Try contacting the list of moderators on the list, if they're no where to be found on Europe or USEast battle.net. Then you can try to contact me, I have my information in my profile, and I've posted in places elsewhere.
Currently I can't prove that they did it, because I some time ago turned logging off to reduce hard drive stress (keep it from shortening its life span). However, I picked up an SD card and SD Card Reader recently. I could start logging again via my SD card, though which will be a bit flaky for logging, since I use my SD card.

Log to a ramdisk, which you back up to your hard drive every 6 hours?GeneralFunk wrote:Unless perhaps this is intended to get them banned from the channel as well... This belongs to the bots forum. In fact there's a thread specifically for that.

Re: Banning players who PREVENT games
Well considering his of recent making an account, I get the feeling it's a collaborated troll show which brings to question if it did happen. Anyways, that's just me, and I'm not the only one with admin power, so I'll just leave it up to one of them to decide.Cokemonkey11 wrote:except for the part that they admitted doing it?
Don't really feel like baby sitting that, and I don't feel like writing a persistent script for such a thing. Even if I had the initiative, I don't know that GHost++ is can even find the log in such a location.Discombobulator wrote:Log to a ramdisk, which you back up to your hard drive every 6 hours?
