Main focus of this post is obviously the mechanic part.
And Sorlag made me think about a new hero idea.
Name: Hiajir
Hero Class: Tainted Shaman
Background: Once one of the best living shamans of the orcs, know for this experience in healing, traversing the spirit world and calling the elements to his aid, now a twisted image of his former self after he felt under the influence of the invading demons.
Fel Horde
Model Suggestion: (Reskinned) Orc Shaman
Ranged Attack
Support Hero, Debuffer
Strength : Medium
Agility : Low-Medium
Intelligence: High
Innate:
Blood Sacrifice
Allied non-hero unit
Kills target unit and spreads its blood over nearby units.
Grants allied units including yourself bloodlust and scares enemy units.
Bloodlust increases attack speed and scared enemies deal reduced damage.
Long cooldown.
Talents:
Chance to fear affected enemies.
Heals the shaman by 5% of his max hp.
Skill 1:
Tainted Spirit Wolf
Summon
Summons a large purple or light blue and transparent wolf with hp based on str and damage based on int.
Has low cleave and absorbs a nearby corpse every 2 seconds to heal 5% of its max hp.
Every 3 seconds, nearby enemies have a low chance to be feared for 2 seconds.
Cannot be controlled ( familiar like ).
Lasts 30+intmod seconds.
Talents:
Calm Spirit: Get control over the Tainted Spirit Wolf.
Skill 2:
Chaosbolt
Enemy unit
Jumps 5-10 times quickly between enemy units, targeting highest % of max hp and deals 3-5% of actual hp as low range AoE damage on each jump.
Talents:
More jumps.
Skill 3:
Axis Mundi or Spirital Travel if the former scares you too much
Point, closest valid target
Allows the shaman to teleport to an area around any obelisk as well as friendly heroes and outposts. Area around anchor points increases with level, cooldown decreases.
Channels for 8-intmod seconds, during which his evasion will increase while his magic resistance decreases. Kinda shifting into the ethereal plane, but he doesnt turn ethereal.
May stay out of the map for a short time based on distance for balancing or flavor.
Manifests over 20 seconds after teleport while his evasion decreases and his magic resistance increases until they reache their normal values.
While manifesting, he can walk through units and terrain obstacles as if he would fly.
Skill 4:
Twisted Spirit Guide
AoE
Buffs units in a small AoE, grants x ( str or int based ) temporary hp and a damage buff to friendly units, a small int based DoT and damage reduce to enemies.
Whenever a unit under this buff dies, the spirit seeks a new nearby unbuffed host.
Ultimate:
Thunderstorm
Self centered channel
On cast, the hero enters the Thunderstorm Stance.
The hero keeps channeling. When rightclicking inside the spell level based, large casting range, a thunderstrike comes down after 1,5 second and deals medium int based damage in 450 aoe.
Lasts 15-30 thunderstrikes. 0,5 sec cooldown between thunderbolts.
I think local special effects can be used to display range and to confirm thunderbolt casts.
Spell can be aborted by ordering Stop.
Talents:
Less cooldown between thunderstrikes.
Less delay between clicking and thunderbolts appearing.

Pretty versatile hero you have here.
Is the familiar able to teleport with the hero, or will it have to chase its master after has teleported ?
Also I really like the idea of his ultimate, although it could be quite confusing for new players who stubbornly refuse to read tooltips.

Like the concepts. We really do need another shaman-type hero. A must have for the Orc faction. Nuff said.
