Do you buy Robes of Resistance?
Simple poll.
I never buy it. Spells are not as common as normal attacks (Knight Armor is fully effective against spawns) and Orb of life is a better alternative if I keep dieing. And it does not increase your damage.

Never. Much rather get orb of life if I'm forced to buy any survival items (and that's only if i have a hero that needs items at all).
Re: Do you buy Robes of Resistance?
Only worth it if your going vs a Nuke heavy team. Even then it probably wont be enough to save you. Needs STR or HP instead of armor IMO.

Re: Do you buy Robes of Resistance?
Looking at the wiki reveals that they end up with 25% resistance and 30 armor ( half of a Knights Armor ).
Could it be an underrated gem or should it be changed due to the existing alternatives, which consist mainly of hp items?

Re: Do you buy Robes of Resistance?
Should be resistance + HP imo.
That'd make it great for AGI players who need survivability but don't want Orb of Life in favor of Orb of Skill.

I've not only never gotten it myself, but I've never seen anybody who has played more than 5 or so games get it. I've only seen pubs get it and die.

Re: Do you buy Robes of Resistance?
It depends on what you're playing against, whether you can afford items in the first place and how your character's armor is normally. 25% spell resistance is also quite high, given that the natural hero spell resistance is 25% (meaning with max robes you should, unless both bonuses don't stack, take only 50% spell damage).

Re: Do you buy Robes of Resistance?
Either that or one applies after the other, in which case the cumulative effect is 43.75% resistance.

Don't forget that single-target spells don't get reduced by the default 25% hero spell resistence.Luftwaffles wrote:It depends on what you're playing against, whether you can afford items in the first place and how your character's armor is normally. 25% spell resistance is also quite high, given that the natural hero spell resistance is 25% (meaning with max robes you should, unless both bonuses don't stack, take only 50% spell damage).

DittoOnly worth it if your going vs a Nuke heavy team.
And I'm assuming it stacks with innates (RK, SL?). I know there was some controversy with innate evasion and the item
...and speaking of which, now that item is useless imo. For some reason, it seems to be the favorite of DPS heros. Yes, it has AS and evasion 25%? but imo the AGI helm is a much better choice for Melee dmg heros. If you want to scrap something, id say evasion armor, i still cant find a solid use for it.

Re: Do you buy Robes of Resistance?
He went off on a tangent about the Armor/Evasion/Attack Speed armor, which happened to make little sense both for coherency's sake and in game terms.Reaper wrote:What are you talking about

I think ToX likes these, if he likes permanent items at all.

Re: Do you buy Robes of Resistance?
Well I actually see the evasion armor on alot of heroes, but I just can't understand why. The champion's helm is a much better bet imo, a little more pricey, but nice for those weaker agi heroes. With the str bonus being an extra 100 hp.
But back to the robes...
I see them on occasion on tanks like Rue, Tyrant, Gravel, and a few others, even shammy now an them, but I'm not convinced the players with that item really knew what he was doing. Overall, it has it's useless, but they are excetionally limited. Maybe alter the robes with a HP regen or something.
