Technically, "You want" is a valid clause. But in the context, it should have an object.
For example: "You want to fuck?"

Maybe you should actually do something constructive Jamn and try and find other mistake in previous posts, since your bitching about every little detail in every little post.

I thought how could there be anything worse than debating gay rights and Christianity on the EotA forum?
Then I found it on page 2 of this thread.

Re: To allow, or not to allow.....the question about gay rights.
People worry way too much about it. I support it because I believe if two people love each other, they should do something about it. It's not a question of gender, its a question of whether they love each other or not. Yes, damn it, it IS that simple. People shouldn't pretend that there's some kind of wall preventing them from doing certain things; especially if it involves love. Just because all we see in the movies and whatnot is girls kissing boys doesn't mean that's the only option.
But anyway, that's my opinion. As for religion? Well where exactly does it say in the bible or the ten commandments that you can't love someone? Sheesh.

Re: To allow, or not to allow.....the question about gay rights.
Ok, I was going to ignore this, but since I am seeing some intelligent posts, I'll throw my hat in the ring, again.
Setokaiva...there is a huge difference between loving someone and wanting to marry them.
And it depends on what you mean by "worry too much". For the most part, I would have to disagree. For instance, the gay activists want to pass a law prohibiting employers from disgriminating against them. I have big issues with this, it undermines the employer's right to hire whom he chooses. So in that regard, it is a big deal. Government has no right to interfere with peoples beliefs, and that's exactly what this law is doing (check the first amendment for further examples).
On the religious side? I'm rather moderate. If you want to be gay and love another man/woman fine, I wont tell you how live your life. And I don't belief in running around a shouting "Gays burn in hell!" It's all a bunch of BS. And even though the guy from GFunk's vid was an idiot for the most part, he made a good point by saying that the Bible doesn't really address homosexuality.
Oh, and the part where God says to kill gays is a bunch of crap and misqouted by crazy, far-right religious freaks who don't know what they are talking about. What the Bible is acutally talking about there is pedophiles and sickos, people who go around intentially seeking out such engagementsto the point of rape etc. Like many things in history, the Bible has been misqouted. Anyways.

How about checking out the 14th amendment? Specifically the EPC.For the most part, I would have to disagree. Show me were it mandates special priviledges to gays. Currently, they have the same rights as heterosexuals, the idea that they are somehow deprived is BS.

They are deprived access to the state institution of marriage in most states in the Union. As long as marriage is a state institution the 14th amendment applies. This isn't a special privilege buddy, this is a privilege of the general citizenry.DarkNemesis wrote:Show me were it mandates special priviledges to gays. Re: To allow, or not to allow.....the question about gay rights.
As it stands, gays have equal rights. Allow me to explain. They are deprived access to the state institution of marriage in most states in the Union. As long as marriage is a state institution the 14th amendment applies. This isn't a special privilege buddy, this is a privilege of the general citizenry.
A gay man may marry a "straignt" woman
A lesbian woman may marry a "straight" man.
A "straight" man may marry a "straight" woman.
A "straight" woman may marry a "straight" man.
Now tell me how the hell that isn't equal?
And what about deductions for having children? Yes, you could argue that straignt couples may not have kids, but the propensity is much higher when your able to. Then there is the question of (much) higher rates of STD'S, restrictions on personal freedom, morality (for some), the preservation of marriage, opens windows to other...questionable relationships, etc.
What I am getting at here is that there are tons of reason for not supporting gay "rights" (special priviledges). I have a couple of gay (bisexual more like) friends actually, though they may have discovered that they weren't "gay" anymore, who knows. Oh, and one of them doesn't support gay rights just an fyi.
Prop 8 didn't take away any rights (you can't take away something that doesn't exist) or restrict anything, it simply said that only heterosexual marriages would be recognized. That doesn't mean you can't be together with your partner/whoever.
