The Wiki
Dunno if it's just me, but the Wiki loads excruciatingly slow at times. Anyone else interested in moving the Wiki to someplace like Wikia Gaming?
1. It would free up server load on Emufarmers.
2. It would load faster and, due to its location, be more accessible.
3. We could promote the game more with cross-references in other articles.
Thoughts?

Re: The Wiki
No Wikia Gaming, any other Wiki farm would be OK.
If it's really a problem for Emu, I could host the Wiki on one of my servers.

Extremely intrusive advertising, very broken HTML/Javascript, it loads pretty slow for me, and most importantly, it's run by Jimbo Wales.Casval wrote:What's wrong with Wikia?

Re: The Wiki
Before moving the wiki, wouldn't making sure it's complete be great first? I mean, yes, the version changes pages work pretty well, but most of the hero pages need work done on them.
"L4D2 promises to set a new benchmark for co-op games. . ." Like L4D promised to hand us new maps, survivors, and zombies? We've seen how that works.
Re: The Wiki
After getting all the items (with exception of pilfer items) and most of the units I was going to do heroes, but was discouraged by the 348593487598473 different templates people had for them and typing "thedudeabides" over and over and over and over and over. Well copy pasting "thedudeabides" over and over, which has to be done twice due to the whole "cheat enabled" "cheat disabled" crap. -_-
I suppose I could write a quick script to enter, paste, enter, click, enter, paste, enter, repeat...

Re: The Wiki
It's Ion, this is my new handle I suppose. I use it online so I thought it'd be appropriate here.
I'm putting together a word doc. (RTF since I assume very few of you use Microsoft Office) of all the heroes, their skills and what I assume to be their stat growth. Any help from Yak would be great. I could put translate this onto the wiki but I don't want it to get deleted or trashed at some point, so I'm thinking of just putting it on word first and then perhaps throwing it up there.
This is a draft copy (atm. just the Rune Knight). If you guys want to contribute feel free otherwise when I have time I'll just be scrapping it together. Terminology should be fairly straight forward (ST = Strength, IN = Intelligence, AG = Agility) and I'll be putting it in both colored and non-colored versions, since some people seem to love rainbows and others live in darkness : |
**EDIT: Apparently the site doesn't like RTFs so I'll just wait until I have a few more files up and host it somewhere else for .rar dling.

Re: The Wiki
Are people still finding the wiki (or anything else) to be slow? I have a much faster server that I can move it to.
