Gravel

#1 Post by Leek »

I think HotM is too good at the moment. Especially with the talents. The regen+bonus HP+armor+dmg+heal is too ridiculous. My example? I had downed mid by level 20, it was me and RK vs Garg and AA in that lane.

On the flip side, Crumble. This skill is completely useless, even more so compared to his other skills. This move needs ether a major buff, a major overhaul or to be replaced. The AoE is too small, it doesn't last long, its -armor is very small. All in all its a garbage skill.

Yak's said before that Crumble is probably going to get replaced. He mentioned to me he might make it apart of Rockslide, which I thought was cool.

That's a pretty good idea, might be a bit strong, Rockslide is really good as is.

I hadn't heard that so its nice to know people are aware. Now about some HotM nerfs?

Grav, while a strong hero, really needs a complete overhaul, sorta like the TC.

Holy shit, are you serious? Why? He's (for the most part), wonderful how he is. Ok so his ultimate sucks and crumble isn't the most popular skill, still love Gravel, don't change him too much!

TC needs and overhaul, agreed, with AoE this time too!

Should I conjure an overhaul like I did with Time Cleric?

While reading this I had an idea for a crumble replacement:

Rock Smash (Passive)
Deals X % of armor as damage on each attack. X increases as the skill is upped.

Stone Mastery (Active)
Adds a bonus to other abilities for a short duration.
Heart of The Mountain: Converts X % of damage received into health (Y heal maximum).
Rockslide: Decreases armor of units damaged by X for Y seconds.
Tremor: Increases chance to stun by X %.
Boulder Storm: Summons a Shardling for every X seconds channeled (X decreases per level in Boulder Storm).
War Club: Each Attack slows targets attack speed by X % for Y seconds.

So yeah it would work like Rune Knight's Imbued Equipment giving a passive bonus with an active self-buff which increases the effectiveness of his other abilities.

The duration of Stone Mastery should be very brief with an average cooldown. I would say being able to have it active 25% of the time would be about right, that is to say if it lasted 10 seconds, the cooldown would be 40 seconds (starting upon activation), of course those figures are purely for example.

Anyhow, let me know if you guys like the skill.

I donno, Gravel is already quite powerful, and adding an additional slow/stun/whatever to tremor is imo a bad move. He's already crazy with a high tremor and the artifact totem. But thats just me.

I'd agree with Dark that Tremor doesn't really need a buff. It's a really good skill as is.

TC isn't as awesome as Plight, Neph or RK and Gravel does need a bit of an overhaul. Yak wants to remove Tremor as well cause it lags the fuck out of games.

Considering Neph is bugged to be overpowered, and garg could survive some nerfs, I think where TC is at is a good thing. I used to think Tremor lagged the game, but it never does for me anymore. I dunno if it lags other people, but my comp is 4 years (probably closer to 5) old now, so I don't see why it should be lagging everyone.

Grav needs an overhaul as in Crumble needs to be removed. The rest of him doesn't need to be changed, but maybe it could be better.

tremor can cause pretty good graphics lag. I think after each use it gets more laggy, or that could be because of game length. It's not bad if you aren't seeing it on your screen, but on a small map you'll notice it

It's more than just graphics lag, it messes up the engine a lot with changing the terrain/changing unit heights/etc., even if you arent on screen.

It's a good skill, but it needs to go. I'm thinking of making it into rockslide, where the rock does its current damage, but also slows (chance of stun) all the units it hits, nukes their armor, and also buffs your own guys with HotM so it has a nice positive side effect.

Sounds like a brillant idea!

That finally will turn rockslide into something different that a simple shockwave with changed graphics.

Maybe you can give it a talent to make it channeled with more rocks appearing after the first one.

So... roll all his moves into Rockslide and give him a bunch of new ones?

No, give him 4 identical Rockslide skills.
