Thunderstrike only hits Necromancers out of a full wave.
Thinking about it, it may be because they are the undeads spawns or it is related to units having mana. I think there was also only a single unit affected of a skeleton merc group. Or that is just picks a single unit due to a bug ...

I think silence automatically skips all units that either don't have mana or don't have magic abilities.

In a sense that'd make sense, since even if you have silence, you can cast shit like Smoke Cloud (non-magical ability). But it's also kind of a bad idea of a map features a unit that could gain a skill that silence would effect during the applied silence duration.

So it affects mercenary captains because they have warstomp even though they have no mana, that would fit my observations.
Is the miss linked to the silence?
And does it only not affect undead normal waves because they have no skills due to a lack of upgrades for them?

Did done some testing of my own. And it would be Silence. Silence will apply to only units that it will affect. Mana is an irrelevant factor. The test I ran, was a priest(default), a sorceress(default), footman with 0 mana cost silence and 0 mana, and a knight with 50 mana and a 25 mana cost web. The result, Priest, Sorceress, and Footman got silenced, while the knight was not. However if I change the field "Attacks Prevented" for silence to include "Special," all of the latter will be silenced.
