If that's true, it's completely fucking retarded. Jesus christ, Blizzard needs to fuck off and let people do what they want.

Like script within the editor because GUI sucks? Ummmmm. yea.

Full scripting would be nice. But they have Custom Script as multi-line now. So make your event, add Custom Script, have a hay day.

Oh, and it's also syntax highlighted.

Not all scripts have events. And TESH was highlighted too.

This is STILL a step backwards for blizzard.

Indeed it is! That's Blizzard though, they get you all hyped up with the new features it'll have, then pull a bitch move and pull back existing features.

Blizzard learned they still could sell Blackthorne and Rock 'n' Roll Racing that they decided to cut features to give older ones some desirability, at least it seems that way.

The more I play around with the Editor, the less I like it. Its unfinished. Besides the impossibility of passing records ( custom variable classes ) from function to function it doesnt even support getting the amount of points a unit has in a selfmade attribute.

I've considered building a system that utilizes dummy units as dynamic arrays, since they hold multiple indexes of custom values. Of course unit variables could be treated as a pointer.

http://www.sc2mapster.com - Propably the largest SC2 modding site at the moment.
http://www.sc2mod.com - Home of Andromeda, the Galaxy language extension. Some tutorials.
http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/starcraft-ii-408/ - Forum you can search through if you have some questions, some tutorials.
http://www.thehelper.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=146 - Another forum to look for answers.

And then some others like TDG and Inc gamers, but I think they are not that active.

I guess you are not interested in the largest german SC2 modding community's site. :P

The fact that i'm having difficulties getting an EXTREMELY simple map to work is troubling me. I know its new to me still, but the shit i'm doing shouldn't be hard to figure out in the first place. In wc3 I was able to figure this stuff on my own in like 5m.

Their new object editor is trying too hard to be an entity system. It's a terrible piece of shit.
