Forum Skins/Styles

#1 Post by Discombobulator »

This is by far the worst forum skin I've ever seen.

Split from the Site Move topic. -Emu

It is a bit disconcerting at first (user info to the right of posts? wtfbbq?!), but you'll probably get used to it. With a bit of work and seeking help from other sources I could probably change some aspects of the skin, but there isn't much I can do beyond tweaking until other skins are available.

Of course, I could always go back to the backups and revert the forums to phpBB 2, if people really want that.

Your wish is my command. :D

Also, I take back what I said about there only being one theme option: There's actually also the subSilver2 theme (it came with the package, but wasn't installed by default). Try it out and see if you find it more palatable.

You mean you like the skin, or you like your title color? (Methinks you had both on your mind at the same time. :P)

I've set subSilver2 as the default and switched everybody over to it. It turns out that there are styles for Olympus, they just haven't been validated and screened in the way that the phpBB 2 ones on phpBB.com have. There's a styles development and discussion forum, and Yak found a styles demo on another site.

Don't make me install a language pack.

By Lord Yak's decree, Hello Kitty is now our official mascot. If you see any other skins you like, let me know and I'll add them.

I'll add a smiley pack soon; there are a lot of them out there, so let me know which ones you would prefer.

Hello Kitty?

This is by far the most efficient tactic of scaring off new members I've seen.

Hello Kitty?!

I guess this is why DotA is more popular than EotA. Maybe we shouldn't have put Yak in charge of marketing.

Take a look at the smilies on phpBB.com and let me know which pack you want.

wtf@kitty....

dude...you should find a pie theme and use that instead...pie > hello kitty...pie > eota....pie > life...and most important...pie > yak...we all know this to be true...change it to pie!!!
Why would you not love pie? You know its a sin not to. Pie > God. Even His commandments can't prove this is not true.

Well... I figured Yak had something to do with this, know I admit it is better then the old one (which was terrible), it is a bit too pink though, we need a new skin IMO

I'm loving the new theme.

Since being added, nothing but peace and love and happiness have been posted. No giant flames of demon or wootz. No endless bitching threads. No really stupid ideas.

Needless to say I'm going to need to change it back before the bliss ends so I can claim success.

You know Yak, there would be less flame wars if certain people didn't act like zealous fanboys. ^_^
