IMO: Valve sappin' mah community.
"L4D2 promises to set a new benchmark for co-op games. . ." Like L4D promised to hand us new maps, survivors, and zombies? We've seen how that works.

I dunno. I'm definitely gonna keep an eye on it, and get the demo, but I don't know if I'll go out and buy it if it's $50. I'm CERTAINLY not as psyched as I was for L4D; I'm kinda annoyed that we got used as, essentially, guinea pigs for the game. I guess I just don't see why this stuff can't be DLC (Which was promised and not given. . .kinda bugs me.)

I also don't want to see the minimal support we had for L4D go away. Which it will, despite what Valve says.

/end rant.

Man, I only got L4D a few months ago and I haven't played it yet. And the next one comes out in November? Jeez.

Valve looks forward to your 50 dollars.

Not to mention the 50 you paid to play the "beta" for L4D2

Yeah, that one really gets me. We got all of 4 versus campaigns and some survival. I'd hope they would smooth things over by giving those of us who bought their beta, L4D, some kind of discount on L4D2.

But that makes little to no sense at all, from a business perspective.

I dunno, if they charge us $20 - 30, I'm okay with that. But $50? Don't think I'll be getting that, but we'll see.

I don't buy steam games for full price

I get everything on weekend deals. And for as much as I've played l4d, the 20 bucks was well worth it

Dead Rising has Zombie Genocider for killing 53,594 zombies
Left 4 Dead has Zombie Genocidest for killing 53,595 infected.
Prototype has Trail Of Corpses for killing 53,596 infected

Someone is going to go and put the next one at +2, I can see it coming.

Meh. Just about everyone I know who has L4D played the shit out of it for 2 weeks and hasn't touched it since. I think I went back and played Survival for literally 10 minutes before calling it quits again.

What makes me really, really fucking upset though is that ever since L4D came out, people have been complaining the Tank was too easy to kill because all survivors had to do was bunch up in a corner and just shoot. Because the Tank could only hit one person at a time, this meant that he'd only get in one or two hits before he died, if he got in any hits at all. Since Valve promised to include additional content, like new infected types, in DLC, one of the more popular suggested infected was called the "Charger", who had decent HP and a charging attack that could disperse survivors who bunched up in a corner.

Guess what? He's in L4D2 now. It's just one of the many great examples of why I'm not buying this game unless it's a serious, serious upgrade (and it seems more like Madden '08 to Madden '09 to me so far).

I do appreciate Valve's effort to give us new content, but to be honest Survival is the most half assed shit I've ever seen. It adds nothing to the game but it does let you figure out just how terrible your friends are at L4D.

Anyway, Valve did say in a recent interview they're still planning on adding content to L4D.

interoperability- capable of being used or operated reciprocally
because I really didn't know either.

That honestly sounds like bullshit to me.
-we are releasing authoring tools for Mod makers: just the SDK, which should've been released last year, but they've been holding out on probably to sell L4D2
-community matchmaking: another feature that's worthless to the PC community...
-4x4 matchmaking: could be useful for friends who like to stomp
-more new content during the coming months for L4D1: completely fucking vague, and could end up being small updates like new survival maps (woo hoo!)

Where are the NEW campaigns?
NEW zombies?
NEW weapons?

Seriously, what the FUCK?

I only played 3 survival maps, because it only took 3 for me to realize that versus is more fun, even though it's plagued with a ridiculous amount of leavers and people who rage quit after getting pounced/grabbed/incap'd in areas they cant be saved from.

Not to rez a deceased thread, but...

I personally loved L4D, and have been looking forward to L4D2 since it was announced. The main thing that is drawing me to L4D2 is that the "director" is going to be upgraded which will make things interesting. Also there's supposed to be a unique zombie type for every campaign zone (I don't know if that means one per campaign or one per episode of campaign, probably the former) that will change gameplay slightly (like the hazmat suit zombies which are super fire resistant). Also you guys are all complaining about the survival mode on L4D, but my friends and I were actually complaining about the lack of one before we found out it was DLC. Ultimately I'm excited for it...on 360, I'm hesitant to say anything about the PC version.

I'm about to get flamed, but I'm one of the few people that didn't think L4D was that great.

I enjoyed dystopia/empires/sourceforts for multiple years, and I couldn't handle l4d for 1 day.

It definitely didn't live up to my expectations, but according to Valve they've not stopped putting effort into it. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

That's fine. If you didn't like it, you didn't like it. Personally I really liked it, but I'm pretty sure I know why I liked it more than you.

A) I don't own a 360, I'm a mooch and have only ever played it with friends (therefore I never had to size up the game versus its price).
B) Myself included there are six of us who all liked the game (of those six, there are 3 copies of L4D, and 3 360s and enough wireless controllers for all of us)
C) We usually only play it when there are at least 2 360's and 2 copies of the game and 4 people to play.
D) I didn't get hyped up about it at all.
