Halo=Former mercenary, took rule over the UD.

Deinnov is some uber demon, and like all the other demons he doesnt have a special background (yet). And I bet Yak won't go into detail now as his job is nearly done.

Therivox is just a pawnzor dragon, and like any of his kind too powerful...

Due to their immense power, none are playable.

Anything else? I guess this is the short version of answers Yak would give.

We can be happy he added Undead... I actually didn't expect it since he said he got so few time. Well, maybe he will work on the lore when someone else continues mapping, who knows?

Crap, I just realized the undead history is apparently gone with modforge. God I hate that site.

Honestly, Deinnov's history will be revealed only when the time is appropriate, and I haven't thought therivox's history out enough to do it justice. Halo's history has been told, but lost in the fires of modforge.

Maybe someone got a backup of the data (UD history was pretty old). I mean modforge had been down for a year once before, and afterwards most of the data was still alive, including old projects and user accounts (that's why I had ~~0,6 posts per day with a total of 500 since the forge was back). I can ask shadowwolf whether he can get it (or whether someone else can).

Short undead summary of what I can remember:

=>Scientists created an elixir that made people have a very long life and immune to the consequences of ageing.

=>They created an own state with workers, who where mainly poor people who worked for them to get the elixir as an payment and those who created the elixir but they didn't got an army.

=>Other nations (I think mainly the Elven) thought they become too mighty and attacked them.

=> In the first battles Elven clearly where more powerfull since the "undead" had no army and only bad equipped workers.

=>But when the Elven stuck a sword into one of them (or smiliar) they didn't stopped fighting and continued "living".

=>In the meantime the scientists hired mercenaries who were lead by Halo Grimweaver, who were said to be very brutal, for example they raped their enemys, (thats were raping comes into EotA story!) to defend them. With that they were able to push the Elven out of their land.

=>But there was one problem with the "wounded" ones from the battle... although they were not dieing theire body will still start rotting, thats how they became the undead.

=>The Elven at this point though of something new (? I don't really remember the soulbinder story =/ would be nice if someone else did that). The Soulbinders who were able to Rip the Souls out of the Undead and were able to "kill" them that way.

=>The scientiest also worked on a better Elixir that wouldn't make the bodys rot. But when it was created it was only given to "important" people like the scientists themself or Halo and his staff. Halo also took over the political and economical lead and became sort of a Dictator. The scientists did nothing against that because that way they could focus on their researches (and even If they tryed I have no doubt it wouldn't have worked =P).

=>then the Soulbinder Story continued with the Exile and smiliar (I don't want to write that down here =/)

=>so there was some kind of armistice between the Undead and the Elven

=>The Undead city was devivded into two parts. One Part was open to everyone that was were the not "undead"(i.e. rotting) people where living which was much like every other town. In the other part only for the rotting ones (I think there was a special name for them I forgot =/) who worked there.

I think thats all If I forgot something just tell me, same goes with grammar mistakesl.

Soulbinders absorbed the souls of elven too. Then there was this conflict about using the elven souls and in the end it was forbidden, they got banned and ordered to protect the frontlines to the ud land.

Halo faked a bigger elven attack on his ( drunken ) men ( which were fighting against each other ).

Halo got the control because the scientist couldnt manage to lead their army.

The UD were passive but conquered every land that dared to attack them with their own ( revived ) army.

The soulbinders were allowed to stay in the Elven lands, but they had to stay close to the borders of the Undead land (the Undead attacked the Elves once and got some valuable territorry). Although their powers were useful against the UD, the Soul Binders had to severely damage the UD to take their souls, and the Undead became more and more resistant. So it was only a matter of time until the SBs were decimated.

So now that Fel Orcs are now a race.... Maybe some more info on Deinnov? Or at least more info on the Forcs in general?

Technically, the proper time would be a map after Exodus. Being unlikely it will ever come, just remind me of this in 3 weeks after finals.

To explain Deinnov requires me to explain the demons, which i shall do with this post.

Demons come from a parallel world, similar to the primary world but submissive to it. By this I mean, major changes in Mortal Land get mirrored in Demon Land, but the reverse is not true. If a mountain gets blown up in Demon Land, it'll get reformed after a while as it restores back to mirror Mortal Land. This of course, also means you can't really build anything in Demon Land, as it'll eventually crumble within a few days.

The existance of life in Demon Land is quite a bit different. Originally Demon Land is more or less covered in this demon energy goo stuff. But it doesn't stay in that state long, as small bits of goo tried to absorb energy from other bits of goo and the winner became a bigger bit of goo. Sometimes multipel blobs of goo would devour one particuarlly large goo, thus preventing it from ultimately merging into one giant blob of doom. Eventually it somewhat stabalized with fairly large blobs of demon energy so that there was breathing room, and some of them became smart enough to take advantage of this to run away and such. Ultimately the ones that survived were the smarter ones and the lucky ones.

Some lores end up dividing demons up into Devils and Demons, and i'm going to do that here for the sake of convinence (although devils really isn't the proper term). Ultimately the blobs were split up into two major groups. Devils were the ones that were primarilly lucky; strong, but not so smart. They tend to roam around, fairly mindless, consuming whatever they can. Demons, on the other hand, relied on intelligence to get where they were. This intelligence usually manifested itself by telling them when the hell to run instead of fight.

Over time, things sort of stabalized. Demons and Devils both learnt to control their forms to be more than just blobs of goo (and once a form was assumed for a while, they sort of lost their ability to morph - with a few exceptions). Devils, being too stupid to run, continued to fight and the lucky ones continued to grow in power. They became utter terrors, unlike anything Mortal Land can really compare to. Demons, on the other hand, didn't fight unnecissary battles and thus didn't become anywhere near as strong. This ultimately lead to the demons eventually figuring out they were fucked if they didn't start working together to fight the Devils, and thus Demon Society was born.

And of course the typical boring stuff happened for a while. They developed factions, intigrated new demons that they could communicate with, fought off devils, etc. Eventually, during their various travels, they came across a region of Demon Land which wasn't normal. For whatever reasons, the boundries between Demon Land and Mortal Land were weak there, to the point that a part of Mortal Land practically existed in Demon Land. This was key for two reasons. First, they could manipulate the land there and have it stay permanent - thus they could build a city. The second was they discovered Devils could not enter. The bounds between the two worlds was limited, and thus only things of weaker energy amounts could exist there (later it was confirmed that Devils cannot enter Mortal Land at all without a giant ass tear between the worlds, which was more or less impossible to create). This gave them a place of permanent protection. Eventually a few other locations like this were found, but only 2 or 3 were large, the rest could do little more than offer safe haven - or a way to transfer to Mortal Land.

Upon finding out how all this works, they figured out another trick. As long as they anchor some of their demon essence inbetween the worlds, they were nearly immortal. Being killed by a demon or devil would still result in a significant loss of their energy/powers, but nowhere near fatally anymore. Demon Society ended up being based around this fact. The stronger can 'kill' the weak, and take some of his power because he would use it better. Anyone who was abusive would get taken down by groups of weaker ones realizing a chance for gain. It really just reverted back to the ocean of goo fighting each other, just with more inticracies and immortality. An interesting note, grudges generally don't exist among Demons because of how common conflict is. They expect to kill and be killed by each other in moments of weakness.

And of course, this means Demons have no concept of what it is to be a mortal. And living in a breach, it didn't take long to figure out how to cross over completley to Mortal Land and terrorize the countryside. They have no sympathy for mortals, as their own existance is immortal and gives them a different view of death. They have no qualms picking on them, as their entire culture is based around survival of the strongest. And mortals don't suck away demon energy, so they pose no threat at all (well, initially anyway). Granted, they generally have nothing to gain by doing this, so its mostly left to their own sadistic amusement.

I'm surprised devils aren't also socialists and that's what lead to the squandering of their resources.

On a related topic to Demons/Devils...

First, it should be clarified that Devils aren't stupid or unintelligent. They've just had no need to be, and so aren't really developed in that way.

Second, while the Devils are strong, they usually peak out eventually (usually when aforementioned intelligence kicks in - they develop fear from battles that are far too close, and thus develop an aversion to combat, although nothing like Demons). A few, however, end up past the barrier of the average Devil, so that they can basicly kill/absorb any other Devil they encounter aside from the rare super Devil like themselves. They continue on, slaughtering everything they can and gaining immense power.

Eventually though, they can't handle it. Similar to how black holes implode under their own weight, the Devils explode and loose all coherency of being. They still exist as a creature, but they can't really control themsleves. Nor can other demons or devils absorb their energy. They instead become pervasive throughout the world. And not just demon world - their power is now spread thin, and can and do penatrate the barriers to Mortal Land. Their existance is effectively omni-present now, yet without any direct power of their own.

Thus these Devils watch and observe the world passively. They slowly gain intelligence and wisdom. Eventually they'll grow fond of some people, and when the people have a problem the Devils can assert their power to nudge things in favor of them. The people eventually come to notice this, and recognize them as various forms: gods, spirits, etc. Sects eventually learn to work with their new Gods, allowing them to work together to truely manifest the God's powers (the God actually doesn't have enough control to prevent his powers from being invoked, but does have a choice if he decides to strengthen it). Occationally the mortals are able to give the God the ability to manifest itself through an Avatar for a limited time - although this tends to be a risky manuver, giving a creature which such great power complete freedom. None have, to anyone's knowledge, been able to create a permanent Avatar for a God to effectively return to the world of the corpreal.

The demonic origins of the Gods also makes them the strongest weapon against the Demons. On top of that, the Devils never gained the respect for each other that is found in Demon Society, so retain their instinctual aggression towards fellow Devils/Demons.

Also, this doesn't make the Gods inheriently good or bad. Some develop to become 'good' and aren't interested in ruin. Some just love a chance to continue exercising power (the fire god of the Blazing Priests may be one of these). Others aren't known to the world, and just idle eternaity away as passive observers, or perhaps as the sources of bad luck/misfortune.
