Regarding Hero Ideas

#1 Post by DarnYak »

It's worth noting that while neutral hero suggestions are uncommon, they also carry a lot less strict requirements then a race/player hero, in addition to only requiring 5 skills instead of 6. Further, base spells are far more welcome (and in fact desirable), and complex spells are actualy frowned upon.

The obvious downside is neutral heroes aren't ever player heroes. For now.

Care to explain why?

They take more time to impliment, are extremely difficult for the ai to use well, and aren't acutaly used by players so the effort isn't appriciated.

Takes 5s to add storm bolt to a hero. Takes potentialy hours to add a single custom skill (mostly due to testing combined with eota running painfully slow due to its bloated size)

So if the trigger implementation was pretty much done then submitted there'd be less of a problem?

It'd be more likely, assuming it was done well enough (ran fast, bug free, no leaks, etc.)

Tell me what you need, and I can try to do it... :-/ Nothing too complex though, for the start.

Are heroes and their spells allowed to incorporate World Editor Unlimited triggers and models?

Can heroes have any attachments on them?
A Dragon Hero? Hmmmmm?

Sorry to bump a sticky topic.. but perhaps I found an idea on how to help newbies?

Make a game mode option that allows the selection of the neutral heroes so newbies can play a simple yet balanced hero while learning the eota gameplay without being forced to spend 10 minutes figuring out how to use their hero.
