Apparently I never posted this:

Doomsday Dirigible
Fel Orc

This hero may be repaired by hireable workers given it is in its landed form.

NOTE: This hero may not move without mana. In the event that it reaches 0 mana, it will automatically set down to Refuel. This hero is immune to both allied and enemy spells (meaning shields, heals, whatever) but may be hit by most evocation spells (holy strike etc.)

Innate: Refuel

The Skybarge lands and quickly regenerates mana. Talents can provide minor repairs. May not move or cast spells when in this landed state. You must land for a minimum of 8 seconds.

Skill 1: Carpet Bomb

Moves to a target point in a fashion similar to Swoop, but leaves behind a series of explosions that burn the ground and deal INT damage to enemies.

Skill 2: Rocket Boost

After a few seconds of channelling, the Dirigible has a huge burst of movement in a target direction. The distance moved is determined by the amount of time spent charging. Hits flying units for damage, with a fully charged level 6 Boost being able to take you from the middle of Stormwail to either of the main bases.

Skill 3: Mobile Fortress

When landed, the Doomsday Dirigible gains a ground crew that attacks enemies. The Dirigible fortifies its position, giving it a long-range siege attack (and possibly summoning tower-like structures). Subsequent levels may provide additional abilities and summons. Unusable while in the air. Fortifications end if moved.

Skill 4: Cargo Bay

The Dirigible gains the ability to carry allied heroes, with increasing space depending on skill level. Using the ability heals carried heroes for a small amount.

Ultimate: Suicide Mission

Expends the remainder of the Dirigible's fuel to propel the hero into an area, dealing damage proportional to the amount of mana spent. Naturally the Dirigible would have to land after using this ability, resulting in vulnerability. AoE reticle roughly as large as the hero.

you could give 'carpet bomb' and 'rocket boost' a synergy.
for example, if you made 'carpet bomb' a spell where you just click it and it drops bombs on the ground for a few seconds whilst you move around (like an odd immolation), you could combine it with 'booster rockets' so you can activate 'carpet bomb' then fly past enemies.

maybe the use of combining the two may give bonuses to the spells, or changes them abit. so using BR with CB causes the bombs to explode mid-air, showering the enemies with napalm in a larger area and dealing DPS.

i'd love to see this kind of hero in play though, i've been waiting to see if there's going to be a 'mechanical' hero added to the game

Refueling would have to be lickedy-split on this guy. Lots of potential for a heartbreaker if he is trying to escape and simply runs out of mana. Also, what happens in the case where he runs out of mana while being over water? It would be interesting to see how the editor would deal with the hero running out of mana over, say, the cliff in mid on Stormwail, or some other impassable terrain type.

Imo it should just stay airborn when it runs otu of fuel, but it relies on the wind currents to push it around until it finds somewhere safe to land.

It depends how movement is handled (triggered or not) but most likely the cliff would instantly push it off to the nearest walkable terrain
