Hero Suggestion- Dark Inquisitor

#1 Post by Kalrithus »

Dark Inquisitor
Fel Orc Model with Black Smoke glow?

Stats
Str:23 (2.0)
Agil:18 (1.8 )
Intell:21 (2.5)

Primary Stat: Intelligence

Skills:
Innate-
Malevolent Presence
The Inquisitor Focuses his dark will on a single target
gaining vision of them at all times, if they target is
within a 1000 radius of the inquisitor their damage is
reduced by 15% and their armor is reduced by 5.
Lasts 30 seconds.

Forceful Persuasion
AoE(200)-(320) Non-Hero Target
You have an X Chance to convert enemy units in the area
to your cause for Y seconds. At the end of the duration
the units mind crumbles and they die. Maximum of
1/2/3/5/8 max units can be converted per casting.
Y being modified by a small factor of Intelligence.

Tribulation
Single Target Hero only
Inflicts massive pain on the enemy hero giving them an
X chance of being stunned for .5 seconds for Y
damage(minor). If the hero is stunned three times in
this manner within the duration of the same spell it
will blackout and be stunned for Z seconds.
Y being modified by a medium factor of Intelligence.
Z increasing with skill level.

Bloody Empowerment
Friendly/Self Area Buff
The Inquisitor makes an example of a friendly or enemy
unit. If the target is an enemy it sacrifices it and
grants allied units an attack speed bonus and minor
lifesteal for x Seconds. If the target is friendly it
heals surrounding friendly units and gives them a
movement speed bonus for Y seconds.

Potent Example
Dispel/Debuff Ward
The Inquisitor twists the soul of a dead unit forcing it to
remove all debuffs from allied units and buffs from enemy units,
he then mutilates the body and sets it up as an example of
his power. The body reduces the attack damage of enemy units
that come near it and has a chance to fear units that come
within a 350 AE of it. Lasts X times the number of buffs/debuffs
dispelled.
X is increased by skill level.
Damage reduction increases with skill level.
Chance to Fear Modified slightly by Strength.

ULTIMATE
Nobody Expects...!
With a roar the Dark Inquisitor summons his shadow kodo
Loro de muerto to charge to the field. Upon arrival the Inquisitor
mounts Loro and gains new abilities.
Terrifying Presence - Activate to reduce
the damage and armor of all nearby units in a 600 Radius. Lasts X
seconds, has a small cooldown.
Devour - Loro eats a Non-Hero unit
dealing damage to it, when the unit dies the Inquisitor is healed
for 25/50/75/100% of the unit's maximum health.
Commanding Shout - Orders up to 4/6/8/10
nearby units to attack a single target and grants them a 20/25/30/35%
movement and attack speed buff for X seconds.
Shadowfire - Basically an immolate effect
to simulate the kodo stomping on a unit, deals minor damage in a small
AoE.
While mounted the Inquisitor loses all his previous abilities but his innate,
his collision size is reduced to 10 and his movement speed is set at 480.
Last Y seconds.

Talents

Induce Frenzy - Units under the effect of Forceful Persuasion have their attack and movement speeds increased by 30/60/100% but they suffer increased damage intake.
Persecution - Heroes that blackout under the effects of Tribulation will suffer X damage(minor) and will take increased damage intake for the period that they are blacked out.
Macabre Display - Increases the debuff radius of Potent Display and the radius of its chance to fear.

Not bad thus far.

Am I to assume that X is a constant in all of those spells? I mean, different numbers per spell, but it doesn't change?
"L4D2 promises to set a new benchmark for co-op games. . ." Like L4D promised to hand us new maps, survivors, and zombies? We've seen how that works.

Using X as a variable that will change depending on skill lvl or for balance issues. Just didn't have any solid numbers to plug in :D

Pretty good.

A few thoughts though. I noticed stats are pretty high, not a bad thing, just wanted to be aware of the fact. 21 starting Int and 23 Strength is pretty generous! Again, not bad.

Also, did you have a certain class this hero was aimed at? I.E. Tanking, DPS, Support. This would give me a better idea of how to look at him in terms of the assigned abilities.

Good concepts!

I kinda envisioned the hero as someone who could harass heroes, moreso than kill them, but with utility and creep supporting skills, though I imagine if he ended up being good at everything it might be slightly OP =) Also I couldn't remember what the average starting stats for most eota heroes are so I used numbers close to the traditional War 3 hero numbers.

Very impressive.

I absolutely love your dispell idea, kudos to you!

Oh, I have a suggestion for an ultimate. How about something along the lines of a summon.

Say you summon a Kudo? that grants nearby allied unit special effects/buffs/heals/whathaveyou. The enemies have to kill the unit in order to cancel the buffs. But as a bonus, it adds a further effect, say increased armor or life steal for a shor duration. just a thought.

Summon a Kodo? So its like the mounted inquisiton, changes his model to a kodo rider, gains max movement speed a trample effect and auras? I like the sound of that =P

A very good concept; I like how the Hero's name fits perfectly with his abilities.

About his ultimate. You say it lasts Y seconds. Possibly modify that with a non-Int stat (Possibly Str), to encourage stacking something else? It would have to be very little difference, so only high amounts of the stat noticeably increase the duration of the spell, but it would help a bit more to allow another build.

Also: Talents? Random ideas I have include:

Possibly something that increases the duration of / adds another ability to Potent Example?

Or maybe increasing the attack power of units under Forceful Persuasion?

I dunno, just some ideas to run on when/if you decide to start thinking about talents.

Thanks for the comments :D
Also Y could be modified by a small factor of str since it shouldn't add too much duration, I just figured that the number should be left up to people who know how it would affect balance.

I'll work on talent ideas then update my post :) thanks again.

This is the logic everyone that makes a hero should have.

Ah, but he could throw in some ROUGH numbers for a ROUGH idea about how the idea was intended to go -- Even if it's something like "Short duration" "Medium duration" "Long duration".
