Poll: Who are the two best Tanks?

Note: If there is an overwhelming majority to add another hero into this poll, I can do such, but I consider the following of the highest caliber when it comes to Tanking, though, that could be changed.

And why tank them if you can just kill them?

If a high level Inf kills waves with mines, heroes with AoO and towers with high melee dmg + sabotage, there is no need to tank anything.

If you want to stop a push between your towers, its propably SB with knight armor, healing amu and mend / incinerate / decoy. On the other side he can just walk into the enemys outpost and raze it ...

[X] Decoy wins as best and most effective tanking skill for every purpose and more.

Because Tanking refers to hero/hero situation more than anything. Pretty much any hero can wipe a push, or at least hinder one, and if Tanking were solely based off that factor, then the Wizard or Oracle or Angeline would win hands down.

Also, I'm not just referring to HP when talking about Tanking, because, honestly, Gravel isn't the best tank, though he's not bad. Tanking seems reliant on abilities more than anything, take Royal Guard for instance, now there is a great Tanking spell.

As for decoy, I'm not sure I agree, its a good ability for getting out of a bad situation, but that's about it imo. I rarely get or use decoy. There's always the crystal staff, which I frequently get the SB.

Did you vote?

I voted rune knight and scarab because they have the ability to be the best tanks, although they may not be early game.

If you get Plate Helm, Knights Armor, Orb of Life, and Talisman(Artifact) you are instantly a tank unless you are focused on by the opposite team. Gravel has a great tanking skill, Heart of the Mountain which gives him and nearby units and heroes bonus armor(27 at level 6). Any strength hero can be an efficient tank, just some are better at getting rid of the things attacking them, and others have healing spells such as the soul binder and scarab. The Gargoyle is an efficient tank due to the fact that he has ample AoE damage and can create unit tanks with abberation. He is also the most versatile due to the ability to fly other than maybe soul binder with decoy.

Well decoy alone may not win, but SB with decoy to lure enemys away/tank a bit, Incinerate to push them back and Mend has 3 nice abilities to delay an enemys push.

Scarab with dmg reduced and talented sleep should be the best unit tank ( except for goblin spam etc blabla ).

The question is just too open to ever come near a consense. Fenris could make a good tank with direhowls misschance and lifeleech, too ( even more so in old versions with higher miss ). Or just get an Ooze.
Killing stuff instead of tanking it is the better way to handle it, anyway.

And nothing beats a good AoO/Explosives Inf in killing power imo. :P
But that is a topic for another thread.

Perhap's mom would make a great tank, why isn't that an option?

Ditto for RK & Scarab.
