Somebody enlighten me about ranks and stuff...

I rarely played on bnet in the first place, having no hosting abilities and a crappy connection etc. However recently i finaly got some decent internet and i keep hearing stuff about ranks and bots and stuff like that so could somebody please explain to me how they work? The last time i logged in there was to get the no cd patch...

OK, ranks are gained in 4v4 and 5v5 matches with other people.

They used to do only minor stuff, mainly let you see the other peoples hero choices, and give the new guys ideas of how bad they might die.

Now they give extras like at 20(max level), they give you a new hero I believe, and at 6, they allow you to use a -temper <Insert slot number> command that had a bit of an uproar, since you could temper in the field instead of spending gold of port to altar and back to front lines, plus the time it costs to do this.

As you get ranks, you can save it to the bot EotA with "/w EotA -save <code>" And then it would rank you among other people who saved their code to it. You can also get your code with by doing "/w EotA -code" and then type it in in the game without writing it down or memorizing it.

I miss anything?

At lvl 3(2?) I think the information scroll is instantly tempered for you and at lvl 5(correct me if that's wrong) you get a ping on the minimap and a text info telling you whenever an ally uses a tower core.
Not sure about this but as far as I know the level 20 secrethero wasn't added yet,was he?

At level 20 you just get a cool sound played when you load your code. Something along the lines of "DOOM HAS COME TO THIS WORLD!!!". I don't think there is anything else.

Uhh ... that lvl 20 secret hero only appeard in 1.12 changelog ... so you couldnt have seen somethin like that ^^
