So, how stupid is Yak?

#1 Post by DarnYak »

So, prior to the release of Burning Crusade, I was slowly dabbling on the map, but not making much headway. It shouldn't be a suprise to anyone that when BC came out I wanted to play it for a few weeks rather then work on EotA (or even visit this forum).

"Yak you bastard, you've been playing WoW non stop for the last 2 months!?". Well, no. First two weeks, sure yea, but then it leveled off to more casual playing. But, of course, its still been a quite while since you last saw me.

I actualy visited this forum every few days after that initial BC binge.

First visit: No new posts.
Second visit: No new posts.
Third visit: No new posts.
Etc.

I wrote EotA off as finally dead, due to people moving onto BC and other factors, and so I moved onto other things. I still kept an eye on the forum, with constantly seeing no new posts being shown.

So, a short time before writing this post, I came back for my regular (now weekly) checks of the forum. No new posts. As I was going to close the window, I noticed "Sat Mar 04th" (or whatever date it was). The hell, that date means it should have been listed as a new post! Why did it never show as one?

Becuase somehow I got logged out of my account is why.

I'm not sure how, or why. But when you're not logged in it obviously doesnt keep track of which posts are new or not. And this resulted in quite a few missed posts. Oh sure its not the most active board ever, but I never meant to abandon everyone like quite like i did.

So yes, i'm alive. Status on 1.11? Dunno, will figure it out after I look through some crap. Biggest probelm is i dont remember in what state I left most things anymore. And I still need to flesh out full heroes for at least 2 more undead slots.

I know that... once another forum kept all topics saying "New Posts", whether I head read them or not (while being logged in though).

Actually, as you might have noticed already, West is said to be alive... East... dunno... Northrend... dunno... me... off to GW...

However, it is good to see EotA isnt completely dead yet... and to have you back (to some degree)...

Ohh, and I know how MMORPGs make you adicted (victim myself), so good luck with BC ;) (although I still dislike WoW)

-Ham

P.S.: Btw, if someone called me via XFire, I'd hurry to BNet in a flash (unless in PvP/Missions ~~)... so go for me...

Not even playing WoW (or any MMORPG) atm. In fact, I need to log in and clean out my mailbox since i'm on extended WoW break now.

Yea, its not the most active forum ever, but even if a few people are still hanging around I owe it to them to do something with 1.11, in either my hands or someone else's.

I vote we make this question a poll :P and yeah, im not sure wtf is up with it randomly logging people out once in a while, i have the same problem. I think there are still a lot of people quazi active, but when they dont see anything going on, they move on into something else and just pop their heads in once in a while to see if anything is happening.

I strongly suspect its directly linked to when the server's ip changes. And I think you had a post from around that time that you were moving the srver and it would be down for a bit.

Son of a bitch, I was wondering why this forum had gone quiet in the last three or so weeks.

Yes, again.
