Messing With Mana Regen

#1 Post by DarnYak »

Doing an experiment with mana regen for Sat. games. Why? BECAUSE I CAN. This is likely only to last one version, I just want to see the effects.

Currently, 1 Int= 15 mana, 0.01 regen

Changing to, 1 Int = 6 mana, 0.1 regen

What this means is mana pools will be considerably smaller, but regen from empty to full in aproximately one minute.

So, trying to ignore the obvious balance issues that arose (certain heroes having infinite spells), what did everyone think?

I really liked the new change.

You ought to post a poll or something and see where people stand.

As the heroes with infinite mana it was tons of fun. As heroes that got screwed over hard it sucked. Can't really say anything else because of all the heroes I played it fell into those two camps.

HOWEVER, -int things like Brain Freeze were REALLY ANNOYING.
-= I am the Grand Hammer =-

A poll where 6 people respond isn't very enlightening when something's fairly complex like this.

I would say it makes ranged heroes far more powerful early game, but that isnt based on experience as I only played 2 games yet, just a thought I had.

Except people are more likely to respond to "yes" or "no" instead of writing out lengthy arguments why they like/dislike something?

Or people end up giving an answer that tells me almost nothing thinking that's sufficient when they might have written something more.

From what I observed, Robes of Resistance were overpowered. But I guess with Int heroes having unlimited mana, this is a good thing.
Line 'em up.

^Robes of Resistance? The one that increased magic resistance? I thought Sorceror's Robe was better.

Anyway, I think this was definitely interesting for making Int more useful to invest in, but it caused a lot of imbalance for heroes. With the mana regen, I almost never had to go to a fountain to heal and could stay in lanes for a long time.

Strength heroes benefited tremendously, particularly if you purchased any of the new shield items that gave mana, regen, or int.....
