Re: Rune Shell undispellable.
What about the three charge dispel item at the item shop... Good point. I dunno... what do you think? I can't really see everyone lining up to buy dispel scrolls to use against the rune shell personally. Especially when he can just recast it easily. Going back to my original point, at least it woul...

Re: Rune Shell undispellable.
That is technically true, but I would not consider it to be a viable counter for a few reasons. 1) It cost a lot of money. Spending 2000 gold or so for 1 item to counter one ability of one hero is not really cost effective. 2) It has a long cooldown and costs mana. RK can simply recast the shield. 1...

Re: Rune Shell undispellable.
Ah, I did not realize this was not the only forum for eota. I can see the irritation at dredging up an "old" argument then. I don't think the above logic quite fits though. What if an undead hero had "Flesh Rot" that did 10,000 damage over 30 seconds and was only dispellable by d...

Re: Rune Shell undispellable.
Hey jamn, how come you gotta be so hostile? I did a search on Rune Shell and got 25 hits (including this thread) over all subforums here. Most of them were conversational usage of the term, which I'll admit was surprising. Hence, I fail to see how it has been discussed over and over again. I appreci...

Rune Shell undispellable.
So I am wondering what the deal is with Rune Shell. It cannot be dispelled as far as I can tell. At first I thought that it was just part of the balance for the hero. But it makes Rune Shell SO much better than any of his other skills. Plus lets face it... there are not THAT many character with a na...

Re: The nameless braineater
Meckross, you hit the nail on the head. You dont want the aura to drain you so much that it is useless. However, you dont want a more item-centric or lategame build to gain all the benefits with little to no penalty from just keeping it active. I like the Soul Crystal idea. I think it is original an...

Re: The nameless braineater
I like the concept! What would you think about him being an AGI hero instead of STR? To me, his concept sounds more like an AGI based melee with fast attack and pursuit speed, rather than a slower more tank-like guy. I guess Im thinking ghoul moreso than zombie. And it would fit better with Undead s...

Re: Sorrow Liege problems
Guys... I realize forums can degenerate into flame wars, but it's just a computer game we are chatting about. No slight to EoTA which I love, but it's really not worth getting all worked up over. Even though you don't like each other and may think less of certain people for varying reasons, can we p...

Re: 1.12 Bugs and Replays go here
Shamans Earth Totem with Ultimate active is stuck at Strength of Earth level 1. Does not progress as you gain more levels in the ultimate skill anymore. (ought to be level 1,2,3,4 at lvl15,25,35,45)

Re: New hero skill system idea.
Ooh yeah...that's pretty clever! Would work well for a bard-like support character. It could be a buff like Camraderie that grants attack speed, damage, whatever, and the more that are affected by the buff, the greater the effect. (hard to balance though) Or, something like Voice of Dissonance that ...

Re: New hero skill system idea.
Cool. I personally hadn't seen such a system, so I thought it was pretty interesting. I should clarify that I am NOT making any statement regarding EoTA, such as dissing or implying this hero should be in EoTA. It was simply an interesting idea that I thought people here could look at and be inspire...

Re: New hero idea. Vague outline give suggestions!!!
Useless?!? No wai! Pumping AGI while keeping STR at enough HPs greatly increased his attack power and that of his Nuke. When running, going to STR let you do a stun instead of a nuke with the same skill, AND you start gaining life quickly due to the STR-gain... thus avoiding a tragic demise. So yeah...

Re: Stat gains?
Well, I would write down the starting stats, level it up to 51 via -spawnrate 5 candleburg single player, write down ending stats.
Subtract, divide by 50 = win.

Nephilum Talents
Overall, I was very impressed with the talents. Several of them are quite unique and interesting. My only disappointment was the lack of talents for Nephilim. While it is not practical to have talents pumping his specific spells since he has 15 of them, it is doable to have talents related to his 4 ...

Re: 1.12 Bugs and Replays go here
Yeah, gravel generates WAY too many shards. Its more like 1 every 75 damage instead. Each one eats energy which is extremely annoying as it will disable your generators due to the energy spike. Maybe instead give them a life duration bar to prevent massing? Then, pump the shards a fair amount, but c...

Re: Shaman 1.12
I agree. I forget if the elementals take energy or not. I noticed the Shards from Gravel eat up your energy, thus hozing all your energy generators configuration. As a generic comment, perhaps add life duration on all of these summons. That way, you can't "mass" them by saving em up for a ...

Ok...
I couldn't care less about what DoTA does with it.... as long as EoTA people can take a look-see and maybe pick up some new idea material.

New hero skill system idea.
As a FYI, DotA has come out with a new version containing a very interesting new hero with a completely new spell mechanism. It is kind of unusual for DoTA actually, as they seem to be more conventional with their heroes. While I dont see EoTA stealing it or anything, it may give some of the clever ...

Agreed. I went ahead and cleaned up the wiki. BTW, what is the invincible Sludge strategy anyways? Is it simply do the normal stuff until sludge is available, then buy lots, and keep em healed while pushing? Anything more nefarious? Is it doable with some of the other weaker critters too, since it t...

Re: Dread Shaman Wiki created.
Heya Dekar!! Not to derail the current conversation, but if Dekar is reading this (or someone else smart), could you please alter the template for the dread shaman a bit? The Totem mastery is all messed up. I have values for level 1 and level 6 of all 5 totems in the source, but that takes up 10 spa...

Ha! Bravo, New Dawn. :-) My faves: Elves: Blazing priest - the only true summoner in the game. Has a unique gameplay option. Infiltrator - pwning heroes is always fun, and Mad Bombing is great too! Aeromancer - 2 levels of her mana boost really help keep her in the lane. All her skills are interesti...

Re: Grim hag vs. ascendant
Thanks Dawn. A fair assessment. To rebutt slightly, what is the diff between ascendant and hag's starting armor? Its less than 5 I am sure. I didnt mean to make a blanket statement there, just within the context of the Hag vs Ascendent discussion. :-) Another comment is that according to the Formula...

Re: Grim hag vs. ascendant
Its kind of hard to say one way or another, due to the number of variables. Keep in mind that AGI gains from items are a bit more efficient than STR. (orb of skill, agi gloves, helm of agi > rings of strength). I will say that the armor gains are pretty much neglible. 100AGI = +10armor = 20% effecti...
